Crash and Bang Winger

This is how i see it finishing;
-Angel's old partner/deb's ex/dated the stripper (i can't remember his name) investigates Laguerta's murder and uses the gps tracking to figure out dex and deb's involvement in it
-Lt. Deb looks into his past and sees that he had been investigated earlier by IA for being corrupt and silences him
-since he's a dirty cop, he meets dex's code-dead
-Hanna Kills Deb
-Dex kills Hanna
-Angel, unknowingly to deb, is investigating laguerta's death , as he still had feelings for her. him and Masuka figures out it's dexter, but since he isnt a cop and he's pissed, he kills dexter in front of dexter's son
-series finished

I haven't seen it explained yet, but how did Estrada get Laguerta's phone number. Obviously Dexter dialed for him, but why wasn't Laguerta more suspicious?
Either way, I thought it was a great season.

I really feel like that final scene/situation should have been put right at the end of the series with Deb killing Dexter.
Of course, there's no reason they don't replay it in a different context next season.
I just don't see this show wrapping up on a happy note.

I would be ecstatic if the last season was as depressing and twisted as possible. I want see Dexter go down hard and everyone tangles in his web of lies get pulled down too. Masuka can have a happy ending, but that's it.
I really liked that the last season was very character driven and that there was no central antagonist for dexter. There was a lot of things going on and it didn't feel overly formulaic like so many seasons past. I guess since they no longer have to hit the reset button at the end of the seaons things can really heat up.

Too quick..there's a season 8 yet to come.
I think Hanna will last threw this season into next, more I think of it after the black orchids left on Dexters step I think she is focused more on Dexter than Deb(love/hate) type thing so maybe she'll leave Deb alone.

I think that makes sense, she was only after Deb because she was getting in the way. If Hannah goes after Dexter I imagine she wont bother with Deb.

I don't know about that. Breaking Bad has successfully turned most of the audience against Walter White, so I think that one can end with him dead or in jail, but most people are still rooting for Dexter. Unless he continues to drift further from his code, I think the writers will try to keep the audience happy by ending things in either a positive or an ambiguous way for him.
My prediction is that Dexter's secret gets out, but before can be arrested, Hannah and Dexter head to Argentina with Harrison to live happily ever after with all the killing behind them. Or so it seems, until they discover someone who meets the code in their Argentinian village, then the credits roll while we're left to wonder whether they're going to try to live a normal family life or team up as killers.

The series has had a lot of twists over the years so I have no idea what they have in store for the conclusion. I just hope it doesn't end with Deb and Dexter as lovers. I'd like to see Hannah come back as they left the door open in the finale but I imagine it would come down to Strahovski's availability as well.

god, don't let them drag this series out any further. there's already too much filler content, try to leave on a high note without souring people any more

I agree. Although they rebounded nicely with season 7, IMO they need to end it next season. It's prety obvious that they are running out of ideas, and with all the drama that unfolded in the season 7 finale, season 8 has a great chance to tie it all together and end on a high note.

ya I think it has to end next season, unless Dexter is in jail or on the run they can't do much else with the way the show currently is

So I got behind a bit, and just watched season 6 and 7.
Season 6 was pretty slow at times. I feel stupid for not getting the twist. On the other hand, since I wasn't reading this thread, no twist was spoiled for me. It finished stronger, but overall for the content, it could have been 3 or 4 episodes shorter to tell the same story.
Season 7 was much stronger. Isaac was very good, it's too bad he didn't stick around a little longer. Glad Laguerta is gone. I can't think that the show ends with everything unravelling. I think what is more likely is that Dexter offs himself in some way to prevent Harrison from every finding out the truth.

She really needs to be a feature actress in a solid cable series. I would watch it.

Les Moonves lets it slip next season is the end
Quote:
When "Dexter" was renewed for a seventh and eighth season in November of 2011, many assumed that the show's final arc had been set -- except that Showtime has refused to confirm the now upcoming eighth season, set to start on Sunday, June 30, as the last. However, Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of Showtime's parent company CBS Corp., has been less hesitant. According to Broadcast & Cable and Entertainment Weekly, he referred to the upcoming season of "Dexter" as the final one at a conference yesterday: "We have Ray Donovan coming on, with Liev Schreiber, which comes on with Dexter‘s last season starting in June."

I'm saddened that this there will be no more Dexter, but the show really has run its course.
Though I am excited to see what Showtime comes up with as a replacement. They brought Homeland so hopefully they can bring another show of that caliber to the line-up.

Showtime let Weeds fun itself into the ground so I'm glad they're letting Dexter go before it gets bad too. Last season was a really great season for Dexter, really rebounded from two bad ones. Weeds used to be a can't miss show for me but I just found out last week that the final season was on last summer and I only found out when I saw the blu ray is being released.
8 seasons of Dexter is probably too long but it's a good long run so hopefully the last season goes out with a bang.

People will look back on Dexter and argue that it could have been distilled into 5 seasons of amazingness. And I will be hard pressed to disagree with them. Nevertheless, it's been a great ride and I remain bittersweet about it's eventual conclusion.
