Mandate by owhership is "win now". Kipper is going nowhere. They still have to see what they have in Ramo before even considering it.

One thing is for sure, the fact that we are even having this discussion is crazy concidering any threads of this nature started 2 years ago or even last year would be responded to with one "no" and then locked up.
This alone shows that the fan mentality regarding Kipper has changed significantly.

Well, they were willing to throw away a frst rounder on O'Reilly without even double-checking with the NHL's waiver rules first... so I wouldn't rule out this management team putting all their eggs in the Ramo basket before he plays some games first.

An RFA signing a 1 year contract? I'll wait until he makes his return before tagging him with that label. If he continues at the level he was pre-injury then yes but if he regresses much like he did last year...
BUT only if he is part of a package that addresses our Center issue.

Completely average? C'mon now.
We'd pretty much kill for any Flames goalie to have those kind of stats this season.

I think his value was greatest at the trade deadline last year. Now he is one year older, had his first serious injury, and has one less year remaining in his contract.

If Kipper or Iggy are going anywhere it's to a contender in the east, not Columbus or even Tampa, Pittsburgh is a good place for both of them right now. Not sure what would come back for the pair of them though.

I personally can't see Kipper being moved considering the mandate to win now by the organization. You would think that there are several other names on this team to be delt before Kiprusoff.

Ramo's KHL season could be over tomorrow morning. His team is playing game 7 of its first-round playoff series at 4:00pm Moscow time, which I believe is 5:00am MST.
I know Feaster has said all the right things about him not being an option this season, but it will be interesting to see if that changes once his season is officially over over there.

Under contract till May 1, isn't he? (regardless of whether his team is still playing)

A buyout of an expired contract will likely be easy.
And as an RFA who was likely on our 90 player reserve list we know that Ramo does not need to clear waivers if he signs with us.

Too bad Kipper still has another year left after this one. Would have been pretty cool to trade Iggy and Kipper off at the deadline for picks/prospects/younger NHLers, only to have them both re-sign with us again in the off-season.
Edit: Provided, of course, players and teams are even still allowed to do that under the new CBA.

Do you think Omsk will let him be bought out by CGY? Especially if the Rumors are true that they want to throw some big time money at him? I mean if that is the case I could see the Flames deal Kipper.

I believe the Flames are in a postion to bring back a lot of quality assets and picks in Kipper, Bouwmeester, and Iginla given their contract statuses. You could argue that there's a combination of multiple 1st/2nd round picks and prospects to be had.
The big question as always is if Ken King and ownership have an appetite to rebuild. I don't believe they do and I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames don't move any of them even if they are far out of the race by the deadline. I believe they view that rebuilding will get in the way of their shiney new building.

They aren't releasing him and he won't play for the Flames this year unless they are playing into May.

Intellectual Honesty, it's all that's been promised by the GM, it's all the fans having been waiting for since it was promised.....
This deadline will say a lot about the intelligence of the franchise. Ok intelligence is likely an unfair word. it will say a lot about whether the franchise's goal is to be a great team someday by sacrificing the today a bit, or whether the goal is to simply remain mediocre as long as it fills the arena.
