As long as I can start the download and then head off to sleep, I'll be satisfied.

What is the over/under on the average download speed tomorrow night?
150kb/s? That is if the servers don't crash.

I've always had better download speeds on Origin than Steam.

I'll probably stick with trusty old 'Buttsville'.

I have a question about Origin. I downloaded a demo to test out my computer, how do I make it completely disappear now from my games list? I've uninstalled it, but hiding it only hides it. Can it be completely erased?

You technically cannot ever get rid of it. If you right click the game, you can choose to hide it. It's incredibly stupid. I still have the BF3 beta on my Origin lol.

Man, Steam eats my hard drive and that's with the ability to delete local content.

True. I actually had to make a section just for games I've yet to play. It's like a to-do list of video games so I can get them off my hard drive. Steam sales are a blessing and a curse.
Edit. To clarify though, I uninstalled the BF3 beta as soon as it ended but you always have the game picture under your Origin game list.

If you Google you can find bit of code you need to change to get rid of the picture from Origin.

Last I checked, EA patched this to prevent you from removing it but I could be wrong. At any rate, I have it hidden and Origin's only function for me is a BF3 launcher.

Couple of questions I was thinking about pre-release.
With this game, wasted space is going to be the enemy of any wanna-be mayor.
Is there a planning tool in the game for roads? Something that I can draw on the screen for a future road without it costing me anything?
Are the roads completely expandable from dirt all the way to High Density with tram? Example can i put down a dirt road first then slowly expand it to HD Tram or will buildings need to be demolished? I watched a few of the videos and when they upgraded from single to triple it didnt seem like the buildings needed demolishing. I am assuming that any road you put down has enough of a ROW to expand it to any other road?
I really hope they release some sort of upgrade path sheet for their buildings. Example you just cant plop down certain things till you upgrade your City Hall etc. It would be nice to have a sheet so you can the to plan the most efficient design possible.

I believe (disclaimer, I could be wrong) roads are only upgradable if they are the same type (Low, Med, High density) as they have the same ROW footprint. To upgrade from a Med to High density roadway however, you need to demolish it.

No.
People need to watch their nomenclature here. There are two different types of "roads".
Streets and Avenues
Dirt Street can be upgraded to High Density Street
Medium Density Avenue can be upgraded to High Density Avenue
You can no upgrade a Low Density Street to a High Density Avenue without demolishing.
Avenues are wider than Streets.
When you start a new city, you need to think about where you want trams to go and where you want regular streets.
As in the video Nehkara posted, you should only be laying down two types of roads in the early game. Dirt streets and Medium density avenues. Those are the cheapest options of the two types of roads.

I noticed during the beta that there is a selection inside the options called "show planning lines" or something like that. I turned it on but didn't notice any change, so maybe it's something that will be turned on when the game is live?

It will be interesting to see what they do with DLC.
