I don't think a broken arm would make him miss much of the season, would it? It usually only takes 2 months for a broken arm.

With the loss of Swisher in the off-season, and now Granderson out for 2-3 months - that Yankees' outfield is getting suspiciously thin. One has to wonder if Cashman isn't on the phone trying to find a fix for the next few months - because Nunez/Almonte, Gardner, Ichiro doesn't scream danger in the AL East.

I'm not sure if the Yanks would do this, but how appealing would Rajai Davis be for them? He's a 4th or 5th OFer for us, but he's earned the right to be a starter, and would be a nice stop-gap in the meantime for the Yanks.

I'm not sure you do it if you are the Jays - you got a real chance to get out front of one of your biggest competitors for a month-plus. That is of course, unless the Yankees extremely overpay, but I don't think Davis would be the piece they are looking for. Probably looking for a little thump to accompany Cano/Texiera, because it gets pretty thin after that.

EDIT - do agree on Davis earning a shot somewhere else though.

Wow. Why would you dangle Rajai Davis to a DIVISION RIVAL?!

Rajai, aside from Bonifacio, is one of our better weapons in the bench. He can leave next year, but for now, anything that counts as "leverage" for the Jays, I'll gladly take it. We're not talking about competing in the future anymore...this is the year to take advantage of a *weak* AL East. When you watch your team year after year of not having any meaningful baseball games played past September for the past 20 years, you throw sympathy out of the window and kick your former tormentors when they're down.

Do you think Yankees fans felt bad for us for all those years when the rest of the AL East were treated like "farm teams" for both them and Boston??? Yup. I am feeling no remorse whatsoever towards those 2 teams.

If you really want a possible trade partner for the Jays/Rajai, look again at that other New York team. I heard they're looking for an everyday outfielder too.

Is Rajai a guy that'll really hurt you? I really don't think so, so that was my reasoning behind it. I'd deal him to the Yanks for a higher end prospect, if they're desperate to do so, but again, they'll find a player to fill the OF. It's not like they'll play with one player less every night .

A little bit of a side thought as the Jays are playing the Phillies now, wouldn't it be cool if the Jays were to swing a deal with the Phillies at some point this year, to bring back Halladay? Instantly their fanbase would probably double overnight.

Roy has came out and said, paraphrasing now, that Philly's fans are the best fans... blah blah blah. I really like out rotation as it is, even if Romero can't regain his 2011 form, we are still deep 1 through 4, with JA Happ waiting in the wings.

Who else is waiting in the wings as far as starter depth goes?

Any of the injured guys from last year going to be available?

From what I remember - we have no one after Happ. Hutchison/Drabek won't be ready until mid-season, IIRC.
On a side note - Romero looked pretty good in his 2 innings today, a lot of movement on his off-speed pitches. Delivery looks night and day from the 2nd half of last season. Really smooth delivery, and good-great arm action on his change. Had a lot of hitters on their front foot.

Tex is now out 6-8 weeks as well for the Yankees.
Jays need to get off to a hot start to make this count.
