Bad team is bad, what a joke. Blow it up.
And despite looking VERY good tonight, Baertchi still gets no PP time. Hartley is a fool.

Most interesting about tonight for me was the effect of the offer sheet. Management timed the offer to give the team a boost to win this game. No other explanation for such incredible timing just hours before playing the Avs. It worked until the Avs surprisingly matched during the game. I doubt the Flames really believed the Avs would not match, but were surprised by how quickly that happened. So in the end the strategy backfired for tonight, because once the news was in the flames collapsed and the Avs surged.
Hard to believe or understand how an offer sheet for an unproven player can have such an effect on a veteran team like this.

Im happy our next 7 games are extremely tough. This team needs a direction and winning certainly isn't it.
The only other direction...losing...bad. Lots of losses are the only thing that can force ownerships and managements hands to do whats right....rebuild.
Im so sick of this mediocre crap, its been at least 4 years.
Keep:
Hudler
Cervenka
Beartschi
Brodie
Glencross
Backlund
Wideman
Gio
Tangs (trade if you can get good value but need some vets)
All our picks/prospects
Trade:
Iggy to Pens for 1st, Morrow
Cammy
Kipper
Bouwmeester + for Couturier
Stajan
Butler
Smith
Sarich
Everyone else
I want us to do what Ottawa did, ship out lots, get lots of young players/picks
and start from there.
This team is junk

If this was any other team i would say your post was preposterous. Sadly with this team you never know.

The offer sheet had nothing to do with the flow of the game. This is just a sad effort by a sad team. Admittedly, I was always the kind of fan that would rather try to squeak into the playoffs than admitting defeat and restocking, even if it meant getting 9th place year after year. But I'm done. This is a fragile team that needs a complete change of culture and I don't think Feaster is the guy to get than done, whether that's at the behest Edwards or not. We have the assets to make a very quick retool if Feaster can make adequate trades for such assets. But after the ROR offer sheet I highly doubt those trades wil be made. I would have no objections to any or all of Iggy, Cammy, Tanguay, Glencross, Giordano, Bouwmeester or Kipper being traded. This franchise has a stink of inadequacy that will not wash off, until we can rid ourselves of some of these players.

I watched tonights game and I saw a broken team. I saw the look on Hartley's face in the final four minutes. It will be interesting to see how they play on Sunday.

I do. He is cheap. He just needs to learn that his place is a 3rd line gritty player that can pot a few goals. 2 years of coaches putting him in the top 6 have screwed with his mind.

Despite what the Oilers would have you believe, you do need some "veteran" presence on the team, someone to play the teams top defenders so the prospects can play somewhat sheltered minutes. That said if you are keeping any "veteran" on this team, Glencross is one of a small handful I wouldn't mind seeing stay.
Unless that is you want to be Oilers bad year after year... after year...
Oh I use "veteran" as such because I'm hesistant to call them veterans after that display tonight. A bunch of soft, over payed prima donna's would be a better albeit more long winded way of describing them.

I'm not going to use words like "pathetic" or suggest to blow it up but...
That game was brutally bad, I haven't yelled at a TV that much in a long time. My faith is dwindling fast with such a short season.
Not to mention the thought of ROR on the team getting crushed and Sherman spewing nonsense about it.

No kidding, such a high, to such a low in such a short period of time.
Went from getting ROR for a 1st and a 3rd and a 3-0 lead to not getting ROR and losing 5-4.
Terrible night to be a fan, please please lets ride this out and lose and have an exciting trade deadline and draft day.

Where's the "where are the posters that only post when we lose" contingent?
I'm not really on one side or the other, I guess, but CP is as dysfunctional as the Flames.

it's almost like the flames were STOKED on the fact that they were getting ROR.
then they heard after they took a 3-0 lead in the locker room that the AVS matched
so they got sad and played like crap the rest of the game.
yep thats what likely happened.

We keep changing coaches with the hope a new system or approach would get the players playing a more consitant brand of hockey. It always ends up being the same listless half hearted efforts we've seen in the past. As die hard fans we keep hoping for something/anything that might motivate the players.
It's embrassing when our goalie gets run and the players show no emotion or push back. Where's the character on this team?
The offer sheet failed and were left to wonder what Feaster will do, if anything. He cried wolf last year saying he was going to shake things up at the deadline. He sure showed us - not! I've lost faith in Feaster and management that they will do the right thing to turn this franchise around. I fear more shuffling of the deck chairs on the Titanic

I'm sick of this team. Enough is enough. Being a Flames fan, I have learnt to accept that there are times where you just shake your head and be disheartened, but they have always found ways to battle back and give me false hope again. I'm done with that. This team obviously is badly built, and after last night, I have to doubt their character too. I can cope with losing games, it happens - but at least give it your all and put your hearts in it. I'm sick of management and ownership trying to do the same things over and over again while it's so clear that it's not working. The Flames finally have to accept that they are at a crossroads and have to do something drastically to reshape this hockey club. If they aren't, I might have to consider taking a break from watching Flames games. My sleep and my nerves are too precious for me to spend my time in front of my computer in the middle of the night watching a team that runs with their heads against a wall again and again.

I can't take any more of the emotional roller coaster that is the Calgary Flames. This team has the personality of one of those hot, ditsy, 25 year old **** teasers... so much drama... you all know the type. If this team was my girlfriend I would have dumped her by now.

The Feaster interview was very disturbing, seems managment thinks this team is one or two pieces away from being a contender?? I think someone need to remove there head from there A&& and realize they aren't even close.
