Didn't McGratton just clear waivers for Nashville? Maybe he stays in Abby?

meh, i'm fine with this. jackman doesn't fight or get physically involved, and doesn't win many on the occasion he decides to drop the gloves.

this will, of course, prove useless if mcgratton doesn't play like a "bull in a china shop" on the 5 shifts he'll get most games.

I actually think this will help. I'd rather have him fight and our top line guys play instead of having top line guys fight and Jackman try to score

Someone must be headed down not? We have too many guys for a 4th line. Aliu?

Renaud Lavoie ‏@RenLavoieRDS Brian McGrattan won't play for the Flames now. He'll play for the farm team (Heat) in the AHL.

ya, but I think the Flames didn't want to just take on a contract without giving one up.

This is a great trade! We get some toughness and there will be alot less cheap shots on our players and goalies. I wouldn't be surprised if the other guys on the team get going now, that they have the protection of Grats.

Sounds like he's going to ABB, not upset about that, but I do not want him putting on a Flames jersey again. One of my least favourite players out there, just a dirty player who tries to be tough.

Meh, i doubt McGratton plays in 30% of the remaining games. They brought in toughness but i doubt they will use him.

No risk move and a guy that will keep the other team in check.. can't say I am against it.

Would much rather see Jones in the lineup than this guy though.

ah...Feaster has said that they still needed to add grit...surely someone will tell him that Cervenka isn't quite filling out that #1 or #2 center position role. He just might want to look into other alternatives before he goes down with the ship and takes others with him.

This is for the future. We're going to need toughness in the third round against the Kings.

Meh Piskula wasn't going to do anything for the Flsmes and we are already playing Aliu and Begin on 4th line anyways.

At least Mccgrattan can and will actually fight if need be and not just provide some BS idea of "energy."

I'm ok with trade, compared to 0% of remaining games for Piskula

So the flames complain about team toughness and they bring in 2 big bodies for abbotsford? I'd like to see how this is going to pan out, if these minor league moves are setting up for something because testwuide and mcgratton aren't going to be doing much for the flames and they still need some changes

McGrattan is a tough dude. I love watching him fight. He has that oldschool stare down.

It's a pretty insignificant move in the big picture. I doubt he plays more than 5 games this season for the Flames.

Is McGrattan extended beyond this year?

I can't remember who it was who said he was absolute garbage this year.
