I got thrown out of the Back Alley for trying to break up a fight (fight is the wrong word, a bunch of jackasses just bum rushed some guy and we tried to pull them off the guy), so I guess showing any class gets you thrown out.

Anyone remember millennium drinks at the Taz? In 1999, they’d count down the weeks until millennium and that was how much drinks cost in cents. I think they started it a full year before so it went from $0.52 per high ball all the way to $0.01 per high ball. A group of us would all get hammered for virtually nothing

That place was nuts. I went there a few times and the whole time I just kept thinking to myself;

Went to a Barney Bentall concert there in the 90s after a Flames game. After Barney was done his show Paul Coffey had a turn and then Darren Mccarty cranked out some AC DC. I think the crowd was louder for Paul and Darren. Didn't hurt that there was 5-10 rowdy Red Wings in the crowd that night. Two constants are the Red Wings have been good ever since and that bar has been bad Then again I was the one at a Barney Bentall concert at the Alley......living in the 90s......

The "head bouncer" used to work out at Pro Bodies around this time. Used to squat 9-10 45LB plates on each side Later found out from talking to him that he was in those world strong man contests. Made sense and was good info to know as the guy could javelin people out the door. Much of their bouncers worked out there which made sense as back then the bouncers were very active on/off the job. Maybe this guy was one of your bros

Someone mentioned the Night Gallery . . . My eyes are going to well up because of how awesome that place was. Bathrooms were rated among the worst in North America by Rolling Stone magazine. Assuming you could even call the urinal in the hallway a "bathroom".

And penny highballs at the Fox for one hour on Mondays. Great for a first year University student!

I think it was Coconut joes that did 25c highballs until someone used the bathroom, started at 7 and I think usually lasted till about 8 before someone went to use the bathroom.
The problem ended up being people would find places to pee, man was that a disaster the first night I checked it out, all I could smell is urine and when one person finally dared to go into the bathrooms there was a mad rush to the bathrooms.

I think the Fox (NE) did that once. Bladder buster or something like that. Was disgusting. Chicks pissing in cups. Dudes doing the same.
Good times.

[QUOTE=nfotiu;4099573]Anyone else remember the after hours bar under a 7 eleven somewhere near downtown from about 15 years ago? You had to tell them some kind of secret password and they'd take you down into the basement
17th and 5th, yup

I'll never forget the time I got sexually harassed by a group of transvestites in the washroom at Back Alley during a pub crawl years ago. Ahh, the memories.

Getting involved in a fight regardless of reason will get you thrown out of anywhere.
