I have them 3-3-3 in this stretch but they will miss the playoffs again. In the end playing .500 in this stretch might not be good enough unless you beat the right teams. But who the right teams right now might not be the right teams in 3 weeks. But as of right now losing to Anaheim and Vancouver is ok if you beat Detriot, Nashville and SJ. 0-1-1 against LA too is ok as I see them being at the top soon

Right now there are 11 teams that are 2 games over .500 in the West. If we are expecting to be .500 or worse 8 games from now we are done. To many 3 point nights in the West so far this year and with no West vs East games no chance at East dominating West to bail us out. I see after the next 8 games 8-10 teams that are 4-5 games over .500. With 22 games left that will be tough to make up ground

This year will be a good year for the Flames for once as I see after this 9 game stretch a great chance we sell at the deadline

my result was 3-4-2.

i have a bad feeling that team will be relatively close (but miss the playoffs) yet again. Squandering any chance of a top 5 pick yet again.

I really, really, want to see how feaster/king manage this year's trade deadline wiht the team sitting in 10th or worse, which is where they currently project to be sitting.

This isn't really a tough stretch... I mean compare it to the sched of who the Flames are fighting to get at a playoff spot with (Which I'll define as as many points as 8th seed down to the flames):

Calgary
@Avalanche
Canucks
Sharks
@Ducks
@Kings
@Kings
Red Wings

San Jose
Red Wings
Nashville
@Canucks
@Flames
Blues
@Avalanche
@Blues

Phoenix
Wild
Ducks
Ducks
@Ducks
Blues
Stars
Kings

Detroit
@Kings
@San Jose
Blackhawks
Avalanche
Oilers
@Blue Jackets
Blue Jackets

Los Angeles
Red Wings
@Canucks
Preds
Blues
Stars
Flames
Flames

Minnesota
@'Yotes
@Ducks
Oilers
@Blackhawks
@Preds
Canucks
Ducks

By my eye the only one of that group with a notably better 7 game schedule is Detroit and maybe L.A. with 6/7 home games (similer qual comp thou). I figure the playoff picture will be no clearer after those 7 games then it is now.

Kipper comes back, we go 8-0 and Kipper breaks the record of longest shutout streak.

The good news is that this might move Feaster into action if we get steam rolled.

If we actually do well, even better.

I have them going 7-0-2 during the nine game stretch. That will put them 7 games above .500.

Phoenix, LA, SJ and Detroit all look like they have better schedules on that list.

3-3-3

This team has been playing .500 hockey all season, I don't expect that to change now.

Wins against Avs, Kings, Red Wings
Losses against Canucks, Ducks, Kings
OT Losses against Wild, Sharks, Predators

Need to go 11-5-6 the rest of the way to make the playoffs.

The Flames are a team that's very tough to predict.

I could see them going 4-3-1.
Wins: @COL, @ANA, DET, NSH - The Flames are due in Anaheim and I think will win those 2 at home.
Losses: VAN, SJ, @LA - Van will beat us as always and SJ and LA will be bigger, better teams.
OTL: @LA - 1 greasy low scoring game that we steal a point from.

I was at Chinook Centre at 9 this morning and saw a guy wearing a Flames shirt and hat. He was walking in circles with his head down and seemed to have lost his mind after last night's game. That will probably be me when my optimistic predictions get shattered...

Phoenix get's a lot of home dates but they're facing tougher comp what with facing the #2 seed three times and no one particularily weak. San Jose's schedule is I figure pretty comparable to CGY... same number of home/road games and comparable competition. I'd say the only team that indisputably has a better sched is the Red Wings (conversely the only one with what I would consider notably worse is the Wild).

Not even close by my count.

My hope is Backs comes back and just lights it up, making a rebuild even more appealing. Then again, knowing this team if that were to happen, they'd probably try to trade Backlund for a rental and still try and win now.

Even if you're right and the schedules compare, the big difference is the teams you name get to be the teams you name and not the Flames in the games that are played.

Big variable.

I'd take the same schedule against the Kings instead of the Flames and not come out 2-5-2. More likely 4-2-2 or something

The Flames have had one of the softest schedules so far and they are .500.

So your original point wasn't so much that the Flames have a tough schedule as that you think they suck.

That made me laugh. They haven't won in Anaheim since the 2006 playoffs which goes back 15 games now. I guess they are due?

9-29 all time in Anaheim winning 2 of the last 28.

The Flames will be tantalizingly close to, yet further than ever from, the playoffs by the end of the season.

Yes, the Hawks are soooo scary, 17 shots to 47, just.. terrifying!

My point is that no matter where a team is in the standings, we have an equal chance of beating them. And I damn well know people are going to hate on me. But if we bring our best game to a team like Anahiem, we'll win, or come VERY close to the 2 points. If we bring our best game to a team like Columbus, IMO, the same goes. If we decide to play half ass hockey, against ANY team, without Kipper, we're completely screwed. I think last night proved that. Sure, Macdonald wasn't bad, but man does he give up HUGE rebounds. If we show a resounding sense of urgency in all of our next games, we will come out with an above .500 record. I guarantee it. That's how the game works, folks.
