the lost point isn't nearly as bad as giving 2 to your division rival and a team you need to get over to make it in. This team is just slow playing us again. We are all idiots for getting our hopes up each time. No more. Can't do it with this Jekyll and Hyde bullshyt anymore.

Horrible loss but I honestly tweeted that the Flames would lose on a PP goal with 8 mins left in the game. So predictable, at least we got a point but that is a game that needed to be won.

I would say the teams decided to dictate the play with stupid penalties taken by both teams. Hard to blame the refs for that as I can't think of any really bad calls on either side and a ton of stupid penalties that both teams took.

What a joke, I usually don't get this heated after a loss but that was bloody embarrassing.

How is hartely to blame for the PP? The flames going into the game had one of the better PP %. He gave Sven and Cervenka a chance on the 5 minute PP and they almost had a short handed goal against. Hartely gave them the chance and they failed miserably.

No need to post something that not everyone agrees with.
This game was not an embarrassment.

You just posted something not everyone agrees with. I thought for good stretches of the game, the Flames embarrassed themselves and had to rely on great goaltending. Hartley's handling of the PP time was also an embarrassment.

Minny's PP was horrible as well and the PK did a good job tonight...minus the goal that was in OT

Exactly, so again, "Flames lose 2-1 in OT" would have been fine.

You must have low expectations, Jiri. With all that PP time they had 9 shots after the first period. That does not correlate to a whole lot of effort.

Hartley holds his scrum for about 30 seconds.

After 3 years of no play-offs, a bad start to the season on the ice and in the standings and a fairly poorly played game tonight I don't think it is overreacting to want more than "hey they tried hard" and "at least we got a point."
The complaining about "whining and crying" that doesn't exist in these threads is getting a little over the top at this point.

No, but I have seen it several times this year for the Flames. The Blues game was especially telling, there was a couple times the defenseman had lost/broken their stick and no forward gave them one over an extended time. Maybe it was just that they didn't like the curves or something, but there seems to be far less emphasis on handing a stick to a defenseman this year than ever before. I'd have a hard time believing it's not a strategy, and I like the idea of giving a stick to a defender pretty much regardless - seems Hartley doesn't probably feel the same way. Keep a look out next time.

We are 1 point out about 1/3 through. Could be in worse shape...did we not all know this was a bubble team at the start of the year?

there's alot of positives to take out of this game flames did try and had a lot of pushes stajan looked really good years watching this team usually they would give up even if they had a lead, and that goal that tied it was kind of a fluke gio blocked it and then it went right to setto so not much could happen there

If the Calgary Flames showed as much frustration and anger after a loss as this place, maybe they'd win more games. I was getting really pissed at the lack of intensity by Calgary after they went up 1-0. The 5 minute PP was atrocious, Hartley needed to do something, anything to shake things up, but he just let it ride...
