This is about is ignorant and offensive as it gets!
The student body of a high school in North Dakota is under fire after a photo emerged depicting three students wearing Ku Klux Klan hoods at a boys hockey
game.
Three Red River students don Ku Klux Klan hoods during a state playoff game — Twitter
As first reported by the Grand Forks Herald, and followed upon by the Associated Press, three students at North Forks (N.D.) Red River High were captured on film wearing Ku Klux Klan hoods during a state semifinal boys hockey game against Fargo (N.D.) Davies High. The KKK hoods were apparently a misguided attempt to highlight the Red River fans’ whiteout at the University of North Dakota’s Ralph Englestad Arena.
Dumb move by them. FIO kids. Not sure how this is debatable, so now I'll just throw in a Blazing Saddles reference as it was the first thing that came to mind.
Are white bedsheets worn at any time for any event on someones head considered offensive?
Were there non-white kids on the opposing team that they were directing their evil headgear towards?
Had the kids wearing them been non-white would it still be offensive?

I have to agree. There really isn't anything especially "KKK" ish about those sheets. They are wearing bed sheets and pillow cases on their heads. It's an event where everyone in the crowd wears as much white as possible.
I am guessing ignorance here...which is actually a good sign if accurate.

a) No, nothing offensive about a sheet as a ghost costume. I appreciate the old school aesthetic there. Adding in the peaked KKK hood is just a little bit different.

Wait, what? Are you serious? Those are virtually identical to KKK hoods
