This trade brings in a big AHLer and gives Wahl a chance to prove himself elsewhere, since it wasn't going to happen with the Flames. It may not impact the NHL team this year, but Feaster's job involves the entire organization, not just the NHLers.
I love how I mention the whipping boy, and everyone piles on me like cats ready to pounce at the first opportunity to get a pot shot in. Hard at work again, boys! Wouldn't be CP without it!

Foiled by the ninja edit! I actually took that part out for that very reason.

Just like the Flames the Heat need some physicality, could be a very good pick up. Wahl was not going anywhere with this organization. He lost his nerve and would not engage anyone, always pulled up when contact was coming his way.
Don't think he had a spot in Abbotsford as long as Ward is the coach.
Good for Mitch. Getting away from Ward is the best thing for him. A fresh start will be good....would probably be good for some other Heat players as well.....!
Explain to me how scouts at an NHL game leads to the exchange of two AHL/ECHL players?
One does not lead to, nor impact, the other.
Philly has grit - we need grit
Philly needs defence - we have defence
Sestito was sent down for condtioning, leaving Shelley and Rinaldo as toughness up front. Think we are more interested in Rinaldo than Shelley. Butler for Rinaldo anyone?
Howse too? I thought we still had a collective hard-on for this guy?
Nemisz was a bad pick from day one. Turrible.
Howse needs a lot of work on his defensive game which means he won't play much in Abbotsford. You can cross off pretty well every forward in Abbotsford off the list of future Flames except possibly Max Reinhart who despite not excelling under Ward's system which is designed to thwart offense he's managed to stay out of Ward's doghouse to date but once you get in it's curtains.

Just a ludicrous statement.

Ha ha you can always count on some posters. His system is like Brent Sutters but far more strict.
It's probably not going to hold much weight with you Erick, but straight out of his mouth, he doesn't limit offensive creativity (start watching at 2:00):
