This thread is not mocking Bouwmeester, i don't hate him at all. I just found this really interesting. I actually kinda feel bad for the guy. He was drafted on that terrible Florida team and his play here was pretty diminished by Sutter's system. He's been playing well so far this season and i hope he keeps up the steady play. Do you guys think Bouwmeester will ever make the playoffs? I really hope he does, and i would love it if it was with us.

I thought Jokinen had this record before he was acquired by Calgary with 799 games.

I thought Jokinen was the leader at 800+ until we broke him in?

He makes a great cog for a contender with some D depth. If we are out come deadline day, I think it may be in his best interest to move out.
If he doesn't wave his no trade, however, I am more than happy to keep him. I've always liked him and he can stay in Calgary as long as he likes, so long as his next contract is a wee bit smaller than this one.

Other then one year during a lockout, I don't think he's made the playoffs since he was 12. Couldn't get his WHL team to the playoffs either.

Turns out you guys where right. Jokinen does hold this record (827 games before he made it with us). Guess that guy didn't do his full research.
EDIT: Resolute cleared it up for me.

Charron holds the record for most games played while never reaching the playoffs. That is the "record" that Bouwmeester will take. It'll revert back to Charron if Bouw plays a post-season game at any point.

But Jokinen did make the playoffs... It sounds to me like this last is I lt for ayers that never made it... In other words, JBo will only keep top stop if he plays the rest of his career without making it to the post season

Not sure how is classifying it, but if he is saying games played during consecutive seasons without making play-offs then Jokinen was2007-2008Panthers723
Whereas it was 799 games until he played a play-off game with Flames in 2008-2009 season...
2008-2009Flames799
Charron was 734 games not making the play-offs ever in his NHL career.

So does Jokinen hold the actual record of most games played before making the playoffs, or is there someone else?

nothing for Bouwmeester to be proud about. It would be something if that changes this May.

Its just too bad that the flyers are doing what the flames are this year and just can't hit that.500 mark, 0-5 do far this season in games that bring them to .500, and at the pace this leafs game is going it will be 0-6

They also have something the Flames don't: Hope.

In all seriousness, their lineup is too talented to not make at least 6/7 spot.

So how does this record work?
25 or so more games this season, plus another 82 next year so that is 107.......
