When he knocked over that guy trying to take the puck from him, shades of Forsberg.

Not getting enough hugs?

Who said straight up? And who said you can't wait till the 3 wingers develop into stars and then trade them for a no. 1 centre?

Go back to bed and wake up with a smile, cranky.

Or we could just draft MacKinnon and have him and Janko be dominant down the middle for the next ten years.

Yeah you could if you believe Mackinnon was the best player available. I'm just saying it wouldn't be the end of the world if the Flames thought Drouin was the BPA and drafted him, because you can always try and trade from a position of strength (ie skilled wingers) for a position of weakness (ie centremen).

I wasn't necessarily saying taking Drouin over MacKinnion. But honestly, if you have 3 elite wingers, I don't know that you necessarily need a "no. 1 centreman". What you need are quality two way centreman up the middle who can win faceoffs, go back into the defensive end to support the defencemen, shut down the opposition, etc.

Say Sven, Drouin, and Johnny all maxed out and became elite wingers in the game, I don't see how you couldn't be successful with 2 Craig COnroy types up the middle to support the elite wingers.

Maybe I'm showing my age, but that's a bit reminiscent of Gilbert Perreault.

Iginla was the best player in the game for a period. What did it get the flames? Centers win championships. When the penguins won the cup, crosby's wingers were Dupuis and Kunitz. Wingers are interchangeable when you have quality centres.

Centres are the hardest things in the league to come by; teams are going to be more terrified than ever to deal them in the new cba. You can't wait for someone else to give you one.

2 Craig conroy types will not get this team where we want it to go. We should have learned this by icing teams with naught but Craig conroy types in the middle since Marc Savard left.

He's too small to be Forsberg. He's more like Giroux.

He's neither since both of those players are centres

If the Flames pass up the opportunity to draft a potential #1 C, which they've lacked since Nieuwendyk left, for a winger, I...well...actually, that seems like something the Flames would do, so, I guess I'll deal with it. Ugh, I sincerely hope Feaster is smarter than that.

He cleverly procured maybe the best center in the draft last year, so at least we know he values it. I can't see him passing on another top flight center if he has the option to take one.

Again, let me say that if Drouin is the best available where we are, I'm all for him. But not if there is a comparable player available who plays center.

Great moves and fantastic puck control, Also all over the ice. Plays like the kid everyone on his team hates because he didn't try to make the pass (that shift might have worked out but the other 20 selfish plays didn't)

He will get his ass knocked of the Puck here pretty quick.

If there's one good thing about Buffalo's horrible season continuing on its current trend, it's that the top 3 of this draft all look extraordinary.
