Well he's right, it is timing. The only way Stajan doesn't engage the player, intentionally as he did or accidental by running into him as he would've if he jumped out into the play at the time, was to wait an extra second in the box and let the guy skate past. Not many players want to let a guy get past them.

Im not saying it was the wrong call, but it certainly isnt ''boneheaded''. There is a bit of a difference between coming off the bench and the penalty box.
You're not waiting for a teammate so the thought of too many men isnt present. Right call, but I expect any other NHL player to make a similar one
