He's been playing like a$$ since Taylor got signed, it would seem.
Crazy that the Heat might miss the playoffs after the start they had.
1 point in their last 5 games.

It was 5 goals on 16 shots.

Holy crap Nemo finally scores! I feel bad, but I was happy to see when I looked at the boxscore that it was Brust and not Irving in net for this one, we'll see how Irving performs tomorrow I guess. From Pinder's right up it sounds like Jones had a pretty solid game, was the most engaged forward tonight.
Mainly I'm happy Nemisz finally got that goal this year. Wow that was a long time coming for him.

Yes, first of 2 games I got to see some of our prospects. Great little arena, staff are excellent. Nemisz looked quicker than I thought he would, good jump to his game. Brust was brutal, glad I get to see Irving, I don't think he got a fair shake up in Calgary. Jones, Wahl and Street also stood out. Breen looked okay, although he got beat twice wide early on. Big, tough guy we could use here. Carson could be our 6 IMHO.
We'll be in section 109 right behind the bench (I'll have my Gio jersey) come say hi of you'd like!

Brust's mind might be smarting from not getting the NHL contract.

Very well could be.
Irving's got a ridiculous opportunity before him. He wins this game and keeps the score down and I reckon he's got the starting job for a while. Especially with the way Brust has been playing.

The Heat really seemed to dominate this game. But they lose 1-0. Out shoot Charlotte 41-23. Irving takes loss on a late powerplay goal. Tough loss.

Brett Sutter with pure class after the game.
He called over a boy with special needs, helped him over the railing and invited him down to hang out with some of the Checkers players after the game. What a guy.
(No, it wasn't his little brother).

don't know how good his information is but Joe Yerdon has tweeted the following:
Joe Yerdon @JoeYerdonPHT Old AHL haunts coming back into vogue? Rumblings out there over Flames moving from Abbotsford to Utica.
Joe Yerdon @JoeYerdonPHT
But if the Flames do move from Abby to Utica, the Canucks would almost certainly go from Chicago to Abby.

Interesting. Seems pretty far east for a western team, but I guess Phoenix, San Jose, and LA have three of the easternmost AHL affiliates, and they've done okay.

Phoenix's farm team is in San Antonio, so it's not too too far of a distance, but your point remains.
It's pretty obvious by this map that the east is pretty clustered with AHL teams.

Wow ... I knew that the Heat were quite a bit away from the rest, but I didn't realize that the distance even to the next opponents is THAT far.

Flames statement, courtesy Vicki Hall, Randy Sportak and Pat Steinberg on Twitter:
"We have been approached by representatives in Utica concerning an opportunity for the AHL. We understand they are building a case for the AHL to return there. We are under contract and committed to Abbotsford, and have made no alternate commitments."

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg Spoke to Utica Observer Dispatch. They've been in contact with local mayor. He can't confirm #Flames AHL affilliate will be placed there.

2) On the other hand, though, the close proximity to Calgary is a benefit with direct flying times from Abby to Calgary for both call-ups and convenience of scouting for the Flames brass. Plus, there are no assurances that the Utica will sell out every game.
3) Another negative, it's a long way for Pierre to travel to Utica.
