I'm all for finishing a hit, I dislike that so many players let up these days on clean hits, but finishing a dirty hit for the sake of finishing a hit when you have the opportunity to let up and avoid bad contact like that, you take it.

Can't think of any Flames that have and can't think of any that have been on the receiving end of one of his knees.

I wonder if clutterbuck dislocated his hip on the play. Looks like more than a knee injury based on his reaction and the type of hit.

Sorry, but that isn't low at all. Apologies for being blunt, but that isn't even in the relative vicinity of low.
This is a low hit
And this is a low hit

Those are also low. When the hip contacts just above the knee, it's low. You're wrong here.

My thought is if Hall tried to let up or veer they would have ended up both with their legs out and with a true knee on knee situation.

Didn't look intentional, just a dummy trying to make a hit that doesn't understand HOW to make a hit.

See, I don't think he had any reason to think that it would be bad...well, not the way it turned out kind of bad. For that reason, I don't think he had cause to hold up.

Was tough to watch the pain he was suffering.

As an aside, how the heck do some of you folks manage to post stills so quickly after the fact?
That's some kind of impressive technological wizardry.

Maybe Hall is just a p#%!y and can't use his shoulders to make a hit.He had all day to line that hit up. Pretty pathetic. If Sarich did the same thing to Hall he would be out of the league

Well I respect your opinion on the matter, and Hall obviously felt the same way you do. He will have to live with the consequences of possibly sitting a game or two because of it. I personally saw that it was a bad idea waiting to happen when Hall started across the middle towards him because of the angle he was moving towards Clutterbuck at, but everyone has to make that choice and he made the wrong one in hindsight.

To be clear, I don't think Hall went out with a blatant knee on knee, but he put himself in the position that it was the only way that hit could have unfolded so in the end it really doesn't matter what his intent was, dirty hit or not it was a bad hit.
|
Not gonna argue, my comment was havin just listened to the game, I was under the impression he totally stuck out his knee... Prob get a game.
Are there any examples of where a player was going for a hard hit then in that split second do pull out of it?
