While I've turned a 180 on Dwight in the past couple years, and really loathe his idiot attitude, I find that story a little hard to believe. The game was televised, no? So during a timeout, they draw up a play, and the players hit the court, but they're short handed because Dwight's on the bench chatting? Wouldn't have the cameras picked up on this (that they're one man short), or did rip off their tearaways and get the the game? Something doesn't add up, but the attitude thing fits the bill.
I think the implication is that Howard just told someone else to go out for him on the court. All Star game and all, probably pretty casual about subbing in and out.
Never minded the Lakers but trying the Miami method of picking up two top guys and expecting them to mesh, and, trying to fit it on Kobe's team, who's had the success he has had, its not surprising it didn't work out the same as Miami as James still have to be humble having not won anything yet.

I don't think it is out of the question to think that Stephen A. could have greatly exaggerated (or even made up considering what a scum bag he is) the whole story to help back up his boy Kobe.

The story has zero to do with Kobe. You obsessing over him is hilarious. I bet you have his poster on your wall.
I have a feeling someone NBA fans have wanted to see play this year isn't coming back after his brother made some candid comments to ESPN Chicago.
Quote:
Reggie Rose said he was speaking for himself and not his brother.
"What have you pieced together? Have you made any moves? Have you made any trades to get better? You know all roads to the championship lead through Miami," Reggie Rose told ESPNChicago.com. "What pieces have you put together for the physical playoffs?
Quote:
"Joakim Noah is a great player. Luol Deng is a great player. But you need more than that. You have to put together pieces to your main piece. The players can only do so much. It's up to the organization to make them better."
Quote:
"It's frustrating to see my brother play his heart and soul out for the team and them not put anything around him," Reggie Rose said.
Quote:
"Everyone is expecting Derrick to come back," Reggie Rose said. "If Derrick comes back, they're going to sell more tickets. Is the reason for Derrick to come back to win a championship or make money? Right now, I don't believe a championship. Everything in the NBA is financial."
Quote:
"We can't give a timetable on it," Reggie Rose said. "It's up to Derrick. ... It's a possibility [he could miss the season]. It's about Derrick's career. If he plays in the first game and aggravates the injury, what are they going to say about him coming back too soon?
Quote:
"This isn't a quick decision. This is a career decision. It's not about just making the playoffs. It's about my little brother's career. He has to be ready physically and mentally. I want him to be in a position not to fail and let everyone down."
Steve Nash has to be a top 5 point guard of all time, if you watch him nightly you can appreciate just how good he is. It's unfortunate he's been trying his best to get that baby Howard involved all season which has made him look bad.

Agreed. Howard has looked like a me first baby this season.

I understand the NBA wants the Lakers in the play-offs and that they have a history of questionable actions but if they are going to try and affect the game this much why not just award the Lakers the win before the game?
Doesn't look like anyone left the bench so I don't see suspensions coming. Pretty tame though, makes miss the good old 90's NBA when they actually played really physically.

Kobe travels, doesn't actually get fouled, but of course goes to the line. Subtlety is your friend David Stern
I'm sure David stern knew this was premeditated and instructed the ref to make a terrible call. Not like they didn't call MWP and Howard on garbage fouls smarten up.
Where are the rumors? And how the heck are we supposed to know?
All seriousness though, he was a pretty big "kid" training for football too, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was outed as juicing from his teenage years.
