Haha, that'd be nice, but just imagine what the response will be when he inevitably gets set up with a prime scoring chance by Iggy or Glencross and completely whiffs on the puck. You just know it's gonna happen.

I would rather Harltey and Feaster to have see the truth about Comeau and put his butt on waivers instead of Jones.
Comeau has been the worst forward on the team by a long mile.

read the full quote, the building on players like Comeau comment has been taken purely out of context for the sole purpose of encouraging an overreaction

I don't, that'll mean even more Comeau. Or wait. If he plays well does that mean he gets demoted or even put on waivers? I mean he worked his way to #1 center by being the worst player on the team. I can't keep track of how this team does things anymore.

My patience with Comeau is spent, and how he kills scoring chances dead in their tracks is beyond frustrating.
It has come to the point that i realize the Flames will never waive the tool.
Flames answer promote him its absurd.

I guess we're a pretty frustrated fan base, but I really don't understand the amount of hate directed towards a $1 million cap hit 4th liner who's averaged 10 minutes per game to this point in the season.

He's centering Jarome Iginla.
That is embarrassing for this team, and for us as fans as the team continues on the downward spiral into irrelevancy in the NHL standings. We continue to be told by team management that we're a good team, but no sirs - good teams do not have AHL talent like Blake Comeau playing important roles on their roster.
Enough is enough, and it's time for a change.
(...also, I am not a nugget)

All fair and valid points, none of that is Blake Comeaus fault though.
I'm not defending the guy, I just find it interesting the vitriole being spewed at a guy who's taking up a very small percentage of the cap, and barely played any minutes to this point in time.

and I of course don't blame Blake Comeau entirely either, neither should other fans.
Fact is, we're a bad hockey team because we don't have a good roster. Fans have loyalties to players who show up on the scoresheet, or the hit column or on the blocked shots tally - and Blake Comeau does none of this.
Blake Comeau is an irrelevant cog in a machine that is doing nothing and going nowhere (right now). He's not helping us win, so he very simply deserves the criticisism. Be part of the solution, or take the heat for being part of the problem.

Thanked for simply making me think about the late, great Owen Hart.

I would probably not have as much hate ( even though thats a strong word) for Comeau if he only played on the 4th line. For the last 2 seasons coaches have liked to put him in the top 9 and sometimes in the top 6. The puck just dies on his stick and i don't see why they keep granting him more ice time.
Like i said earlier i think there is a better chance that the flames re-sign Comeau before putting him on waivers. Can't say i like the idea.

Hmm, what's interesting is how much we bitched about Stajan moving into this role last season, and how little we bitched about Stajan after his time in this role was complete. This could bring out the potential in Comeau. Just sayin.

Maybe Comeau's big chance centering for Iggy And Glencross is similar to Irving playing the last three games. When Comeau sucks he gets waived to the minors to work on his game...hopefully!

FYI; Jones lost it on Gelly @ practice and said some thing I am sure he regrets. I believe this is why Jones was sent down. He had some attitude problems and argued with the coaches (both huge no nos for a call up).

Have an iPhone?
Go into your text messages type "comeau" and auto correct will change it to "comedy"
Coincidence? I think not.

Comeau had 17 goals and 35 points in 61 games during the season before he hit 24 goals. I'm not sure that constitutes a fluke. I think it has more to do with lost confidence, unfortunately some players never get it back.
