I hope so.
Comeau, Jackman, Begin, Smith, Butler, Babchuk and Sarich all need to go away.
Oddly enough, Jones is the one piece that kind of fits within that 4th line grouping that I wouldn't have let go.

Yup, makes absolutely no sense to me. I don't understand how Comeau can be centering the first line. Bizarre to say the least. Hoping this is all leading to us acquiring ROR, but I think it's safe to say that's nothing but a pipedream at this point.

My bet is that they're either making room for Sven or about to sign Arnott. ROR is wishful thinking IMO.

Didn't they already say that Sven may be able to start skating with the team in Dallas and they hadn't decided if he would make the trip or not? Doesn't sound like he is that close to coming back and certainly not close enough that they need to waive Jones now.

Already been noted that Sven might go on the road trip but will not play. Signing Arnott would not put them over the 50 max contracts. Arnott would take a week until he was even remotely up to game shape. They could have just waived Jones a week later.

Jason Arnott is the last thing this team needs right now.

But you have to admit, it's a move that you could totally see happening with this team.

wow miss a day miss a lot. Very Jason Morgan-ish feel to this thread. Out of curiosity would people be that upset if Jones was dumped so max reinhart or aliu could be brought up?

20 minutes away before he clears waivers. What will happen next, if he clears? What is Feasters next move?

i wouldn't be suprised if nothing happens after jones clears. This was just a way for feaster to see if he could clear a contract spot easily i suspect.

I'm guessing Comeau moves to centre and eventually Baertschi comes back. I don't think there's going to be any big move made.

Probably goes between press box and 4th line until someone wants to trade for him.

Feaster will sign Comeau for additional 3 more years in his contract.
I like Blair Jones and I thought he plays hard and really compliment with Begin and Jackman. He may not score a lot but he works hard. Also, he is a centreman a position we are lacking in this team.
Trade Comeau and Babchuk to clear a couple of contracts for a hockey puck.

You know, we're carrying 8 defensemen at the moment. Has anyone thought about converting Babchuk to a 4th line forward? He has the size.
Maybe we'll be reading about him centering Iggy and Glencross next.

And it didn't work out. Hopefully Feaster realizes that there's a price to be paid for tying up contracts in guys like Comeau, Begin, and Jackman. I didn't want any of these guys signed or resigned and I feel good saying I told you so here to Jay. Reap what you sow as there's too many borderline players on NHL contracts making roster shuffles and acquisitions much more difficult than they have to be. This team has to be smarter going forward handing contracts to fringe NHL players.

It seems realistic but still mind-numbing that this organization would be so naive to move two wingers to the middle. It's pretty much a joke how brutal this team is down the middle and hilarious how little it gets brought up as a major reason why the team is so terrible in the defensive zone. If people want to keep blaming Butler, they are welcome to I guess, but logic indicates that matching up wingers against the Thornton's, Getzlaf's, Sedins, Toews's, etc. in the D zone is a recipe for disaster which is exactly what the D zone has been.

You know...I have yet to read any official posting anywhere that Jones was put on waivers. Can ANYBODY find me a link?
