Okay now my real problem with this is that Comeau is playing 1st line center, but Jones has been fantastic in the dot, and he's sent down.

This is a good point, that being said the more faceoff wins the better as they should lead to more offensive zone starts and total time in the offensive zone.

I'm sorry, I don't buy the "need a contract spot" argument at all.
There are other ways, much better ways, of getting rid of a contract than to waive a useful, young, 4th line player knowing he will get claimed.
If I'm wrong, I'm wrong....but I don't expect any earth shattering trades or signings to go down if/when Jones gets claimed.

Question of the day.
I recall a post in here saying that particular poster was at practice and seen a heated exchange between the coaches and Jones. Maybe it was done at Jones request? One of the coaches? ...both?

I think this is the one...

Not sure how relevant it is, could be a coincidence, but it's odd that this happens two days after that argument and the day after a tough loss.

Goons don't take faces offs. Zenon Konopka is the exception.

This would make a lot of sense as his ice time is a joke given his ability and work ethic. Similar players on other teams get around 10 to 12 minutes a night. Still, he could really be shooting himself in the foot because the NHL is an old boys club type league, and you do not want to close any doors especially as an energy player.

There is lots of possible explanations.
He could be bad in the room.
They could be waiving him prior to trading him so the acquiring team doesn't need to give up an asset and then risk him on waivers.
He could be not doing as asked by the coaching staff.
Pretty much anything you could think up could be why, we will just never know.

WTF! Why is Comeau still taking up bench space and ice time on the Flames is really beyond me? Jones has been OK on 4th line thus far. Why?

I think I've figured it out:
You can't sell Seth Jones jerseys when you have to put an S in the name plate.

Another explanation for Jones getting fired up is that Hartley told Jones at that time in practice that they were going to be putting him on waivers after Friday's game, barring injury to someone.
Through some of this, it looks like Hartley has got no problem making these changes on a whim, and Feaster has no issue pulling the trigger as soon as he can.
That, in contrast to Brent last couple years seemingly try to get guys going in advance, threatening that Feaster was going to put them on waivers, before the waiver (see Hagman). I am sure that was frustrating Feaster (just observe his out of the blue rant on TV last year) that he was ready to pull the trigger and because of Brent couldn't put him on waivers sooner.
Will find out in less then 12h, be interesting to see Feaster's spin whichever way it turns out.

Is it just me or does Jones put amazing energy, effort and then....
Always miss the wide opening on the net he created? I can say that I have enjoyed watching him and when he breaks through the lines he just can't finish.
Also, I would agree that there is probably always someone like this on every team. Fun to cheer for!

12 eastern time I think, so 10am mountain.
I think he will get claimed, but then again I thought a pile of teams were going to put a claim in on Boychuck too.
