Default February 16, seven games.

Today is the beginning of the fifth week of the regular season.

The battle of Florida is taking place right now. It is the beginning of the second period and the Lightning have a 2-1 lead on the home town Panthers. The game is on NHL Network Canada and USA.

Game of the night here with two hot goalies going head to head. Rinne has 3 shutouts in his last four games while Fasth is 7-0-0. The Ducks played last night but Hiller is coming off an injury. http://www.nhl.com/ice/preview.htm?i...vid=sb:preview

The BJs played last night, Phoenix should be ready to pounce on them.

The Panthers tied it up but just over a minute later, Stamkos scores to give Tampa a 3-2 lead.

Another night where no games really catch my interest. It seems the past couple of Saturdays have been pretty light schedule wise.

I agree with today being a light schedule for a Saturday. Last week there were eleven games and next week there will be a dozen games. Most Saturdays this season have at least ten games on the menu. If you have Centre Ice, the Ducks-Predators game would be the one to watch.

Ok this Panthers-Lightning game has been crazy exciting. Wish games in the West were half as exciting.

Panthers go up 5-3 with 2 goals early in the 3rd, Lightning get one back on a 4-3 PP. Then Purcell ties it up with 10 seconds left.

Watching the Leafs-Sens game with some interest as I have a feeling something may be in the works with TO with their scouts at our games.

I like Mike Brown from what I've seen so far. Their energy line has a lot more energy than ours. We don't have that element that will hit anything that moves.

I've been watching for the exact same reason, and thought the same about Mike Brown. That element is what I thought Comeau was going to bring to the team, but he's been pretty disappointing in that regard.

It's a shame we haven't had a Ben Scrivens type of goaltender on our team for years. At least having a guy like that backing up Kipper gives us a chance to win the occasional game, and would give Kipper a few more games to rest.

When was the last time we started a backup goalie when it was anything but a guaranteed loss night? Irving, Karlsson, McBackup, Toskala, Boucher, Sauve, and even McLennan and Joseph to an extent were all failures in their time in Calgary. Now we have to settle for signing a journeyman off the scrapheap in Joey MacDonald who probably isn't a top 100 goalie in the world.

Scrivens is even from Spruce Grove and played for the Calgary Canucks, so that's the type of player the Flames should have some sort of an advantage in scouting. But nope, we have been doomed to guaranteed loss nights for almost a decade now.

Bourque tackled by Voracek on a breakaway towards an empty net, puck bounces off the post and he is credited with goal.

That was ridiculous. Bourque elbowed him, he fell, so Bourque was tripped, the puck DIDN'T go in, and he's credited with a goal? Wtf?

PJ Stock is an idiot, he makes Glenn Healy look like an astute analyst.

I fully agree with his evaluation on O'Reilly's value.

Kid has had one above average (not great) season and he, and subsequently the Avs, are asking for the frickin moon.

I don't make a habit out of watching Colorado games, but I don't think he is worth near what the Avs are asking for in return (allegedly roster player/2 prospects and a first rounder)

how many above average seasons would you expect a 22 year old to have?

If he is demanding 5M a season "more than 1" would be a good starting point.
