MacDonald should try to get a new mask before the next game.

Irving let 2-goals in on 4-shots and was pulled. If he played well last night we aren't having this conversation.
I can't respect someone that preaches honesty but continues to shovel this load of BS at us. It is insulting that he thinks we are collectively that stupid. And it totally ruins his credibility when he is speaking about other issues.
The lawyer act is running thin.

It was enlightening for me when Hartley got hired. They had a hiring process and Feaster went on about evaluating each candidate on merit. Then after Hartley got hired, Feaster basically said the evaluation process was a formality and Hartley had the job locked up before the interview.
I don't really care that Feaster lies, I more care that he makes decisions without a process and then pretends it was a huge analytic process.

I think Joey McDonald is just a better goalie. So really this is a non issue. Who cares who is the back up Taylor or Irving McDonald will get the majority of the starts until kipper is back.

Good move. I cringe at every shot with Irving in net. He's just doesn't look ready. Being a Wings fan, I've seen MacDonald play a fair bit, and he's sure to be more competent of a backup.

By the 2nd period you could tell Macdonald was a better goalie than Irving.
Irving definitely did have Trevor Kidd Syndrome.

Let's hope Omsk craps the bed in the KHL playoffs and Ramo is available soon.

I agree, but at the same time I think Feaster is at least telling a half truth. There's no way anyone can deny they'll be evaluating Taylor and MacDonald. I think they've seen what Irving is, and isn't, capable of.
But like you said, if Irving had played out of his mind last night, we wouldn't even be posting in this thread.

Jesus, this team is almost at the level of gongshow that it was during the 7 year drought. There is no plan, they're just throwing #### at the wall and seeing what sticks.

That's not how I remember that going at all. I remember Feaster not involving himself in Hartley's interviews at all, allowing Weisbrod and Connie to do their own evaluation of him. When they both said he was the guy Feaster told them that's how he felt too.

The same can be said for Taylor. MacDonald will play until Kiprusoff gets back.

Would you tell your boss that a close friend of his is not the man for the job? The history between Feaster and Hartley is well documented and it would be political suicide to go against your bosses' friend. Would take Weisbrod and Conroy's endorsement with a huge block of salt.

Oh, it's politics in the workplace now, is it? So many posts these days make me want to dust off my tinfoil hat.

Ok, so let's assume that Hartley's ties to Feaster gave him a leg up on the competition. I would then be willing to believe that if Weisbrod/Conroy felt it was close between two options they would go with Hartley. However, if another candidate blew them away in the interview process I don't believe for a second they would ignore that and endorse Hartley anyways just to keep Jay happy. As a career decision knowingly picking the wrong candidate would be as bad or worse than going against your boss's preference. GM's come and go, and guys like Weisbrod will work for many different organizations over their career. It would be more important to him to have a body of work that says he makes the right choices.
