Drop the Arnott thing already. He is not coming here. His time has passed.

Even if he is Jones is still the best FO guy on a team with terrible center depth and guys like Begin, Jackman, Comeau who are likely about the same if not worse than Jones available to be waived.
Add Arnott and your center depth is still Tanguay (out of position), Arnott, Stajan, Backlund (who is injured), Begin. It seems like they want to keep Cerevenka on the wing, Horak has been moved to the wing in the minors already and Begin is a C/W who shouldn't be playing at all.
Even when Backlund is healthy it seem like you could go with Tanguay, Backlund, Arnott and Jones for your centers. Edit: Forgot Stajan. So I guess you still could go Tanguay, Backlund, Stajan, Arnott with Jones as the extra guy but he seems to be a better fit for the 4th line than Arnott and maybe they can get rid of the Tanguay center experiment and put a real center there.
It seems like maybe there is a hope he gets claimed as the Flames want to have more roster flexibility.

So he's one of our 2 actual centers right now, he's 59% in faceoffs, he's doing everything you want out of a 4th liner.....and he's waived? I'm baffled.

Feaster must be drinking again or something. I just don't get this move unless something else is happening soon.

There has to be a move coming. He better not get claimed. He should be on this team.

Too many teams need center help. And Jones' play warrants a claim off of waivers.

Wouldn't mind the oilers picking up jones for the 4th line. Hes pretty good on faceoffs which is what edmonton needs in the worst way.

Feaster has completely lost his mind. He is one of two actual centers on the roster and a guy who has actually done his job petty consistently this year. Even if there is a trade coming, I don't see how this makes any sense. And is there someone coming back from injury or something and room is needed on the roster?

I don't see how bringing in a player for our top two lines, or Horak sticking would affect the 4th line.
Jones is young, skates well, good at faceoffs and inexpensive. Don't understand this at all, unless he has a terrible attitude or something.

Given the center situation I think Feaster should put a claim in...

I love when teams blame their problems on periphery players while not holding the core players accountable.

This is infuriating. How on earth is Comeau still on this team?! And for Jones to get put on waivers is beyond me. I'd love to use a lot of non-lady like words right now.

Let's watch Jones get claimed a team like the Canucks.

There is something up with Comeau and management that we don't know. 100%

Because Comeau makes more? From Feaster's perspective, it's much easier waiving a guy that makes league minimum than a guy you signed to a $1.25M a year contract. As for ownership, ownership has, in the past, seem reluctant to bury contracts down on the farm. But let's not pin this all on management and ownership. Hartley likely had a say as well.

Comeau hasn't been good, but at least he's in the right places. Maybe if he gets confidence the puck will start to go in?
This should have been Jackman.

Sure.
This is the Flames way of holding Jones accountable for the team's failures.

the only reason i can think of as to why its Jones over about 4 or 5 others is because we are up against the contract limit inhibiting a trade. So Jones is the most likely to be claimed and will free up a contract allowing us to make some sort of move.

Calgary's roster is full so if they have a deal for another centre, someone has to go.
