Looks like the Ubuntu OS will be flash-able onto the Nexus 4.

Just came to mention this. Here is a link to instructions and the downloads. Looks like it will be a fastboot image to begin with. Will have to try this out when it comes.

Battery life is amazing today.
Almost 17 and a half hours unplugged and still 60% left.

Am also super impressed with how fast it went from zero (dead) to totally recharged. Took about 2 1/2 to about 3 hours to full charge. That's really impressive.

My nexus 4 will not play text notifications over bluetooth while I am listening to audio. Am I missing something here? My Galaxy s2 did just fine with this.

I am contemplating this phone but like the looks of the new XPERIA Z as well. Sell me on this users!

Ive also read that HTC has a new flagship coming out called the M7, interested in that one as well.

I am happy with the HTC One S but its got its limitations.

I am worried about the memory in the Nexus 10 I'm ordering soon. I'm likely to get the 16GB model, and I know that the OS takes up a few of those gigs. Is there any easy way to expand the storage any?

The worst part of Google Now is how it constantly polls in the background for your location. Wish there was a way to change the frequency.

Not isolated to Google Now... my fricking Shazam does the same thing as well as a few others. I think it's something screwy with how Google Location Services handles locations requests when there isn't GPS.

Ok, time to post some home screen shots.

Press, and hold down, the POWER and DOWN VOLUME buttons to capture your current screen.

Here's a few I did. Nothing too original. I did borrow some ideas from screens I have seen. I've used a lot of Minimalistic Text app. Once you get the hang of using it, it's awesome!


First one:





2nd: Did this one while watching the game tonight.




This 3rd and 4th one are basically the same, except for the weather icons in the top right corner.






And this is the one I'm using now. Really like the blue in this one, plus I think the bar code battery indicator looks the best on this one.




Any thoughts? Critiques? Opinions?

Improvement over the last one. Reduced the "Calgary" (local) text and added some extra date and day information in the top left corner.

I suggest you try out the Multi picture live wallpaper. Pretty nifty in having multiple backgrounds over any number of pages.

Not a Nexus and on a tablet but just to give you an idea.

Super large screenies.

Cool stuff. Where did you get the barcode battery indicator? Seems pretty neat. I'm a fan of use different icons to cover up the multi-app look of the folders, just cleans it up a bit. I think I use one call metro but there are lots and you can make your own as well.

Minimalistic text is pretty good as welll, have been using it for a year or so.

Those look good! I wish I had the creativity in this department to make my phone as nice as some of those. If i try to get too crazy with it I'll end up in an ugly Android blog or something haha. I'm not a fan of the Android robot though, to me it's similar to having an Apple logo on your phone but that's just me.

The case I got for my phone is nicer in person then just online but still obviously not as nice as that beautiful glass back LG and Google put on it. It does stop it from skidding though, which is a huge plus lol. I don't know how much actual protection it will give but it's decent if anyone is looking for a cheap (5 dollar) case.

Does anyone have much experience ordering through Google Play? I placed an order with them, and the item says "Pending" in Google Wallet, which is fine enough, but says "Pre-Ordered" under Google Play. The item's been in stock for weeks on their website -- is the "Pre-Ordered" thing something that can be disregarded?

You should be good to go. Check in 24hrs.

They should have emailed you a link so you can check on the status and stuff.
