Sounds like Irving really bore down when it mattered most, gets the win which for the time being means he wins more than he loses this season. It has been awhile since the Flames had two goalies with winning records in a single season, hopefully when Kipper comes back he can pick up his play so that that is a possibility this year.

Not sure what you saw but
Cervenka took two draws and won them
Tanguay was 9 wins and 13 losses

I think Gio has some bad lapses tonight. Irving, you are lucky to get a win!

I don't think he was ever on Iggy's Christmas card list. Warrener has called Iggy out at an extremely high rate ever since he got his sounding board with the FAN. I think him and Iginla never saw eye to eye and Warrener has chosen to use his position as media to say what he wants about him.
As Iginla showed though, he's in a different league with respect to class than Warrener and simply brushes it off each time Warrener throws darts.

Sure but a lot of wingers take draws on this team. The center position is most noticeable and impact full in the D zone and Tanguay has been on the wing more often than not there the last few games. When Cammalleri Tanguay Iginla were together before the injury, Cammalleri and Iginla were alternating playing low in the D zone with Tanguay consistently on the wall.

Nice to get a win, nice efforts from the top end guys. Definitely need to address the pk, just awful, way too much puck pursuit giving teams easy chances.

Draws mean very little about who is actually playing the center position. Look at the D zone.

I called it that Cammy was going to be huge for us tonight. Didn't expect 4 points and a hatty though. But there's no denying he's been ramping it up since before his injury.
Definitely start Joey mac one of the back to backs sun-mon. If Hartley tries to treat Irving like Kipper then he's being an idiot.
Just want to say that I CAN'T WAIT for Iginla to finally get on the scoring end of these plays and make the critics, and warrener eat it.
OH.. and the 3rd line was so boss tonight. Very impressed. Even with Stajan.
|
I think we're past the "even with Stajan" comments, aren't we? He's become a solid contributor night in/night out. He takes the majority of the draws for the team, has had great success being played on multiple lines, and is playing hard every shift.
He also leads the team in plus/minus.
His 3.5M no longer looks like the boat anchor it once was, I'm really happy for the guy.

I sure hope Stajan is ok. He took a couple of heavy hits including that knee shot.

Irving wasn't terrific tonight but the tone of the game was set very early. No different than it was the game against Minnesota. If Kipper plays this game at his best I still think Dallas finds a way to score 3 goals tonight.
It's a W and I'm pulling for another Irving start. Bring on Friday night.

Puts him 9th in rookie scoring, playing 4 to 7 fewer games than the guys in front of him.

I never really got that impression.
Rhett and Iggy had a couple exchanges on the radio before and they seemed alright.
Rhett's comments weren't entirely out of line.
Regardless, Iggy is always classy

Just poking fun, man. Chill.
I agree completely... In fact I've brought up zero concerns with him from the start of the season, and praised the guy mostly.
He's visibly aggressive all over the ice and moves the puck into the offensive zone very well. And wins faceoffs.

In 11 games, Bouwmeester has matched his goal total (3) from his first season here (82 games played in 09-10).
Also:
Wideman 2G6A in 11 games. Good for 15th overall in his position. Jason Garrison currently sitting at 108th, BTW.
Hudler 4G 5A in 8GP.
Obviously way too early to be properly evaluating these contracts, but looking like really good signings so far; props to Feaster.

I guess 'Venks might be our only horse in the calder race.
Shame about Sven.
Unless of course he explodes for 60 points in 35 games. Which is never impossible with the magical boy wonder that is Sven.

4 points out of a playoff spot with 3 games in hand.
2 points behind Edmonton with 2 games in hand
We've outscored the supposedly awesome high scoring Oilyaz team with all of that offensive talent by 4 goals with two games in hand.
