I don't know but I thought they were trying to speed up the game not slow it down.

hahaha. When was the last time a 3 goal lead was so nerve wracking!
I commend the Flames on giving new excitement to games.

Why is it Taylor's turn? Taylor has never played an NHL game and never faced NHL shooters - sure he played well in Abbotsford but if he was as good as everyone says he is then he would have been in training camp fighting for a spot. But he wasn't.
How can you say that Irving hasn't played well? His GAA is 2.62. He's 1-1-1. The game we lost against Vancouver was a horrendous display by the entire team. And you can't really fault the guy for losing to Minnesota when he only let in 1 goal - the team has to score more than that.

They need to change that penalty for players that are without a stick.

I'd imagine everything counts except the closed palm. Wideman didn't necessary close his palm but still covered it which is hard not to do with that angle.

Yeah. I thought they were trying to get rid of players closing their hands and then throwing the puck. All he did was have his hand over the puck as he brushed it along the ice. Last three calls on the Flames were really of the borderline variety. This officiating crew IMO is calling a really ticky tack game despite there really being no contact or rough play.

We scored a goal against Vancouver in the first game we played because of that rule. I agree with it but they shoukd just expand it to you cant bat the puck with your hand when its on the ice period.

Ya they have to learn to bat it away with the back of their hand now, that's the only way your going to make sure they don't call that on you.

Man our faceoffs have improved 10 fold! Last year we would have lost that faceoff and Dallas would prob have a goal.

And I don't have to agree with Bertuzzied. I don't think he has a point. His point isn't that Irving needs to play better - his point appears to be that Irving isn't an NHL calibre goalie. I think it's a bit premature to make that sweeping declaration.

Ice times amongst the forwards are pretty even. It's great to see the depth. Iginla has only played just over 7 minutes.

Irving has looked scared and out of position on many many shots this game.
I can see why the Flames brass dont have long term hopes on him.

He has improved the last few games on his rebounds but now he has to do a better job of protecting the puck. Kipper sometimes puts his stick n front of his glove but whatever works.

Your sample size is 11 games and 2 periods. How can you judge a career on 11 games?
