We need some kind of enforcer in our lineup, he may not be the best but he does fill the role. Also I liked him on the forecheck in Mondays game, hope he can build off that if hes in the lineup. I'd say we have enough guys to use on the pk without Comeau and from what I see, he's not a great pker. Guy is too soft on the puck when he actually does gain control and he doesn't have the urgency to get it out of the zone.
I forgot which forum it was in but someone had a PK stat on here and Comeau and Stajan, percentage wise was best on our team. I like Jackman and you're right, he stands up for his teammate but I think with Begin in the lineup, Jackman can sit. Begin is a tough SOB.

At the end of the day, we need to win with whoever is dressed.

Time to promote Tanguay.

I don't think they called up Byron to slot him on the 1st line and the way Hudler has been playing, I have to think his line is the first line. I'll give Bob some credit, those are interesting line combo's but when your lineup is decimated with injuries and your team isn't exactly lighting it up, you got to try something. Some thoughts on the lineup:

Hudler-Tanguay-Cervenka: Splitting up Iggy and Tangs could be more effective as Tanguay will not have the blinders on trying to force passes to Iggy, he has an under-rated shot and should is it more. Also Cervenka could take a few shifts easing into the Center role.

Glencross-Byron-Iginla: Putting a player with Byron's speed paired with 2 rugged players might help spread the defense out. Iggy and Glencross have been crap lately and maybe a demotion will get them going.

Cammy-Stajan-Stempniak: Stajan has probably been our best Center (since Backlund went down). Having 2 shoot-first guys on the wings should at least get a lot of rubber at the goalie setting up some rebound opportunities.

Comeau-Jones-Jackman: Hopefully this line doesn't get too much TOI. I like Jones in the 4th line role, but Comeau is a useless turnover machine and Jackman has proved his career high's 2 seasons were an aberration.

Stars on the 2nd of a back to back playing their backup goalie should be a recipe for a Flames win. Therefore it'll be a 4-1 loss.

Last year Comeau was our best forward on the PK and it wasn't even close. Stajan IIRC was second, but there were a bunch of guys in the same ballpark.

The Stajan/Hudler/Cervenka line seems to be the only line with any decent chemistry, I don't know why Hartley doesn't keep that going?

Put Tanguay with Cammy and Stempniak. Two shooters with a set up man. Keeps Tanguay away from Iginla.

Don't quite understand why Jagr and Benn are revered so much on this thread (I haven't watched any Dallas games), but they aren't 1 and 2 in the league for scoring... I feel that the Flames can win this game if they can brush off that loss to Minnesota and make a push to end this homestand strong.

... they're 1 and 2 on the Stars... the Flames are playing the Stars. Mystery solved.

By 1 and 2, I meant in the league...and I honestly see no reason the Flames should be worried about a team that is playing game #2 on a back-to-back, that game against Chicago was played to perfection except of course the not scoring part.

Minor detail in a competitive game of hockey

Dallas will be a tired team, so there's a chance for the Flames in this one.

(Yes, I know what happened with Chicago and the Avs. But, perhaps the team has learned something from those games.)

When has this team ever learned a lesson? Hopefully Byron can bring some solid energy and get this team going a bit, something to build off of

I've always felt Loui Eriksson was the most underrated player in the league and now I feel the Stars may possess the league's most overrated player in Jamie Benn.

I see the same, with the Flames coming out flying but falling down in the score first 2-0. They'll come back roaring late.
