I dont think the owner of the cabin was working with him.
The owners were interviewed several times on CNN live during all the action and they said that they rent it out throughout the year but nobody was supposed to be there when he was. They went on to say that the police did a search of the property (assume all surrounding properties as well) a few days prior to yesterday.

"Marine Corps investigators had "been tracking the movements of J.Y., a known associate of Dorner," according to an affidavit filed with the complaint by an inspector U.S. marshal.

As part of a surveillance operation of the associate, Marine and San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department investigators were watching a property last Thursday in the San Bernardino Mountains owned by a family member of J.Y., the records show."

I got it from the article stang posted. I think I might be mixing up news stories possibly, but I'm assuming this property that they were watching is the same one he went to yesterday?

So what I’m finding ironic about this whole Dorner thing is there are people who claim to live by the constitution which is why everyone should have guns but then these same people cheer on these cops for breaking the 6th Amendment by burning him alive in the cabin.

I guess when you lose them as often as this guy maybe you need backups. I'd carry at least half a dozen in case you lose 3 and need to stop for a beer. Nothing like a cold one after a long day of evading the law.

This.

I don't get why people say its a good thing that they burned the cabin down, if that is actually what happened.

Law and order and all that. If he was shooting back, fine. Shoot back. Protect yourself. But to intentionally burn it down when you have nothing but time on your side? How is that justified exactly?

Just another example of the US 'police force' going completely over the line.

I'm surprised they didn't call in a drone strike.

I completely agree, its the same people who say a rapist or person who has tortured deserves to be tortured.

Theres what a person deserves and then theres justice.

If he died and fell on his back, some of the flesh/clothing/wallet would be guarded from the fire. You'd be surprised how much of a body is left after a house fire.

I think this portrays that perfectly:

Ras al Ghul: "Your compassion is a weakness your enemies will not share"
Bruce Wayne: "That's why it's so important. It separates us from them"

Lets wait til details emerge before we spout off lines like, "another example of a US police force going over the line". Tear gas canisters or diversionary devices can sometimes cause fires. I find that more plausible then they intentionally burned down the cabin but we shall see.

Another thing is this, if everyone wants to use the supposed radio transmissions as gospel, there was also mention of an RPG round that was spotted. I sure as hell wouldn't want to be holding a perimeter if some wingnut had one of those, so given the circumstances maybe it was safer to burn him out.

I think you're supposed to smoke him out, though.
