Yeah, they have space in the contract limit but they will be making a move to free those up ahead of the trade deadline, I'm assuming. Four NHL goaltender contracts is one or two too many.

I believe in the Jays.

I'd take a flyer on him with a cheap enough ticket depending on the medicals. I'd want the Flames to move a contract first though... hate being at 50.

isn't there someone older available? I think we're changing the "win now" to win 15 years ago!

I'll wait til it happens before I really form an opinion on it. Certainly wouldn't surprise me if it did though. Classic flames signing, just another patch over a systematic problem that has plagued this organization for years; a complete lack of center depth at every level.

I rather just keep playing Tangs at C and get Cervenka playing C as well. This is not a move I want

I would be interested if his body still works. Could end up being a freddy modin kind of move though. A lot of heart, grit and veteran presence but broken and old. Guy wins faceoffs which would help a ton. Although our face offs haven t been that bad of a problem this year either.

Just an opinion, but if Johnny Hockey as rumoured is truly going to want to turn pro next year. I would save our last remaining roster contract spot and reward a kid like Johnny. I just think that the goodwill you have created and this kid has paid it back in spades deserves a pro contract. I know why when you could do that July 1, but it would be the goodwill factor of we are confident you will be a Calgary Flame next year. Rather than take a chance on an old rickety kneed centerman which doesn't get you to the playoffs anyways.

I'm sorry, disrespect is not intended with my comments but no way in hell do we sign Jason Arnott, that would be a "Daryl Sutter move" written all over it and Jay Feaster is smarter then that.
Plus why would Arnott even bother? I love my Flames and while i do feel we are going in the right direction, we are not a playoff team this year and are definitely not contending for the Cup.
Now I'm not saying that Feaster wont make moves to try and win now but i repeat, he is not going to sign a 38-year-old-fragile-player because we are lacking at the center position, he just wont.

Feaster said in his press release today Ramo is a no go for this season. Will focus on him in the offseason.

Arnott is not the answer to us getting a playoff spot.

No thanks. The flames are trying to change to an up tempo style game. Arnott was getting slow before his knees gave out. Could not imagine how slow he would be now.
Rather give the kids on the farm the chance. Arnott does nothing for the future of the flames. Flames need to start thinking about the future.
