It's not limited to Flames fans. It's common in all of sport. You could go to a Penguins forum and find the same attitudes there and they are only 3 points out of first in the east. It's just the way fandom is evolving and probably relates to the internet and how it's changed the way we are fans. In the old days, you could just cheer for your team. I guess this is the difference between most of the forum and myself.

I respect the body of work of previous players. I respect that Iginla has dedicated 15 years of his life to one team, one city. If an employee of mine makes a mistake after 15 years of hard work, do I fire him on the spot? Do I yell at him constantly? Well, I might make my concerns known. But I certainly won't be breathing down his neck.

It goes beyond Iginla, too. You constantly hear complaints about Glencross, about Giordano. In the end, we're lucky to have any sort of star talent the way some people act.

Human beings make mistakes. Sometimes being a fan is hard. It appears the irrationalities of being a fan are hard for some people to control on this forum.
