Ya weird to see Hockey Day in Canada so early in the season, but everything about this season has been weird this year.

Had to laugh at the CBC analysts saying they were interested to see where Oilers coach Kreuger was going to sprinkle his offensive dynamo players through the line up today. Offensive dynamos??? The Oilers have less goals per game than the offensively starved Flames.

Statistics never inform the narrative until at least the halfway mark in most seasons.

It's the same rhetoric people have used for years. The Flames are apparently still the oldest team in the league, when we are actually around 14th.

Our star players are still old though that is undeniable.

Yes, let us shuffle Iggy, Tanguay and Kipprusoff of into the sunset and set them up nicely in an old foggies home somewhere in south beach

Brodeur lost his stick in the corner when the Pens were on the PP, Devils cleared it down ice and Brodeur went to grab his stick. Fleury with a hands up play passes the puck to Malkin and he fires it on net. It ends up hitting Brodeur in the skate and then goes off the post and goes along the goal line and stays out.

Whenever I think of the Flames, I think of a team that struggles to score goals, but weren't they near the top of the league in Gf last year?

Everything about Hockey Day in Canada that isn't a game is awful.

In 10/11 when the Flames tried to make their comeback and ditch Sutter hockey, they were the highest scoring team in the league during the second half of the season and finished 7th in goals for.

Smyth sure has become one useless player this year. Takes a lot more stupid penalties than he's worth.

Just walk back in the house to see the Oilers whining like only they can. Smyth looks dumber then usual.

Particularly for Monday.
