			1) Like others, why would you move Backlund when he's been starting to show so much more? It's been tough luck for him, we can only hope it'll average out for him.2) He's an asset we should be moving? Why and how exactly? Because among the teams interested in a young, talented two-way C who has again, been going through a rough patch, I'm pretty sure we should be right there at the top.

Just hope he doesn't take the place of Moss as our talented but oft-injured forward. Hope this is bad luck and not a pattern.

Do you think Backlund is injury prone? He does seem to get hurt a lot.

Flames need to rebuild, and Backlund is too old. Trade him for picks

yeah how dare they play Backlund with guys with no ability to finish like Cammalleri, Glencross & Stempniak

I think with Hartley's system, Babchuck can't go wrong. The Flames need to get some respect on the point.

Yeah, I think Babchuk would add another element to that second PP unit. Assuming the first is something like Glencross-Tanguay-Iginla Brodie-Wideman I'd love to see a second PP unit with Hudler, Cervanka and Bouwmeester able to dish it to Babchuk with his right handed shot.

Any discussion on going into the game with 7 defenseman while Cammalleri is out? I think the 5 or 6 minutes whichever 4th liner sits out could easily be made up by double-shifting whoever's up to it and let Babchuk play very sheltered minutes and give him a ton of PP time, reduce Giordano's time to what he's more comfortable playing with.

No, his injuries have been finger, shoulder, knee and his style of play isn't like Hall's kamikaze reckless style... his injuries aren't chronic they're just bad luck.

Glencross for 1 game, stempniak is a third liner at best(although exciting at times) and cammaleri... How many goals has he scored in the last 2 seasons... I am not sure what your point is. Also as good as glencross has been, I wouldn't consider him a premier hockey player. I feel like you are a the flames version of a leafs fan who thinks kulemin, grabovski, and bozak are elite hockey players...

I'm worried about Sven too but Backlund means a lot more to this team right now and is a huge loss when you consider how short the season is. He will be greatly missed based on how he played through the first 8 games.

no one said they were premier players, you said they should put Backlund with finishers, which all 3 of them are. And why on earth would you put Backlund with "premiere talent" when he has yet to show he is more than a 2nd liner (and even that's a bit if a stretch)

Guy just turned 26 and has played 3 years in the ahl and he is a career minor leaguer? We didn't call up keith aucoin or quentin laing here, he is a young guy who played a full college career. Justin schultz played in minors this year did that make him a career minor leaguer?

Couldn't be further from the truth.

We're talking about guy that was the best centre on the team in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and may have been playing for the Pens by now if it weren't for a few guys named Crosby, Malkin and Brandon Sutter (at the time Jordan Staal).

Believe me, the guy's got all the tools to be a good top 9 player in the NHL. He just needs a shot - something he was never ever going to get in Pittsburgh.

not saying he doesn't show promise. Am saying if i'm backlund, i definitely don't sign anything over 2-3 years unless i'm getting 2-3 million/year..

at best, i think we'll see another 1 year deal around 1.5 million with backlund hoping to stay healthy and show he's a 3-3.5 million dollar guy.

not saying he hasn't shown a lot when healthy over the past 2 years+preseason or that i don't want to se the flames sign him. However, flames fans don't have to look too far to see skilled players that have a history of being oft-injured having difficulty bucking the trend.

i do find it curious that for a guy we all have been relatively impressed with, the only forwards with less avg ice time per game are:
- baertchi
- comeau
- begin
- jones
- jackman

maybe i'm alone here, but i think backlund still had to show more to be viewed as a bonafide top 6 player on this team.

Something something you're wrong....something something something...what do you know? Something something blah blah troll face.

Seriously though, I hope Street is ready and since you and maybe a few other here regularly cover or watch the Heat play, I will take you word for it that he is ready. Kind of excited to see what he can do with Hudler and Roman. Lucky S.O.B got dropped right into a plum spot.
