Well, by your definition, there are a lot of fools out there. Sad.

Well, its obvious you don't vote Conservative, and if you haven't voted Liberal in 20 years, I can only assume you continually vote for some left wing fringe party nut jobs (and yes, I include the NDP in that category).

Left wing fringe party nut-jobs? Wow, you sure like your blue kool aid...
If one doesn't have a specific party that one supports then it is better to vote for opposing voices to status quo so that there can be room for discussion. I know how much Harper hates discussion as he continually hypocritically smashes massive omnibus bills through parliament.
BTW, calling other parties that disagree with your own "nutjobs" is a prime example why people that hate the Conservative Party and their supporters. They can't debate policy without acting like jagoffs.

And therein lies your problem. You don't stand for anything or support anything other than to be anti-establishment.
I'd have more respect for you if you supported at least one party and worked towards making it better, rather than floating from one party to another because your only cause is to defeat the government of the day... no matter who is in power.

Did Rerun forget to take his meds today or something? Indeed the self-righteousness is a bit over the top. Like I mentioned in a thread about the WR, just because we don't support your side doesn't mean we're on the other side. It is possible to be against the CPC and not be a "liberal, commie, NDP supporter, leftie", or whatever. There are some of us who are waiting, hoping, praying, for a more centrist party.

Ok... I did go over the line. I admit...I have respect for a number of NDP politicians and party members and Elizabeth May is alright too. There also are/have been some Liberals politicians and supporters that I respect too. ie. Paul Martin and our own Slava.

Ok.. I admit... some of the things I said were over the top and perhaps uncalled for..
Just curious though, isn't / wasn't "a more centrist party" code for Liberal Party of Canada? or are you hoping for the creation of a new party?

I don't stand for anything? What a brutally stupid thing to assume. I don't wear socks with sandles and I don't take my dog on C-Train rides so I must have no moral compass, eh? Get bent.

I really don't care if you respect me or not. Politically, I choose to support party platforms that come closest to matching my ideals rather than engaging in timewasting partisanship.

The Liberal Party has exceptionally poor leadership at the moment (and really since Chretien left). If they can elect a better leader in the upcoming vote (i.e. not Justin Trudeau), and make some commitments to some ideas us centrists would like to see (marijuana/prostitution legalization?), then the Liberal party will probably return to power.

And which party platforms currently do that for you?

Although I'm not in agreement with the NDP on all economic policies I find their social policies come closest.

I agree with your statement except the part about the leadership after Chretien left. I would suggest that it also had poor leadership since before Chretien and including Chretien, with the exception of Paul Martin. Its the shame the Liberal Party Chretienites worked so hard and put so much effort into the downfall of PM. I completely lay the blame for this on JC, amongst other things.
The Liberal Party had the means to maintain its political dynasty, with PM as its leader, if not for the petty maliciousness of the Chretien followers.

Chretien and his vindictiveness was one of the biggest reasons why the Liberal Party fell as far as it did, on top of that he was a corrupt little arrogant man.
I would rank him as one of the most corrupt Prime Ministers that this country has ever seen.
If Liberal's want to point a finger towards the down fall of the party its right at his door step
The thing that's going to hold that party back for the next while are the red liberal Chretien supporters in the party and the ones that are blinded by Truedeaumania.
If the Libs elected Marc Garnea as their leader and he came out with a more centrist platform it would be a tougher race for the Prime Ministers chair in the next election.
As it stands I firmly believe that if the Liberal's put JT against Harper in the next election we could see similar or worse results with a possible re-rise of the Bloc in Quebec.

Marijuana and Prostitution legalization are the things holding the centrist vote away from the liberals?
Really?!?

For god's sake man, "Liberals" doesn't have an apostrophe.
