Default [News] Cammelleri and Backlund injured

Cammelleri has a hip flexor.

Did anybody see what happened to Backlund? Apparently it was his knee. It would be a real shame if he was out for any length of time. Gone up another level this season.

I hope we're not suffering another one of those nasty periods where a bunch of our guys go down. Seems like it.

It looked like he was limping on his left leg and he took he knee on his right knee. If anything it's another hip flexor from the way he landed. 2 weeks tops my guess (hope).

Seems as if he bumped knees with someone of the broadcast was correct.
I just recall the huge contraption he had for the single broken finger last year. Hopefully he's back soon but the thought of him being a bit more fragile then most is concerning if he misses much time.

If one of them isn't back on Saturday I assume we will see Horak back with the big club?

Yes he will likely get called up, unless they dress 7 d-men.

Would love to see an all Czech line. I think Horak would do alright between those two.

I hope to see Horak up. He's not the equal of Backlund yet, but clearly an NHL player.

Backlund would be a huge loss for this team if he's out for an extended time. To me he has seemed like the best center on the flames this year. I still don't understand why he has not been getting more ice time?

Cervenka has looked good, but does not seem near ready to take on being a center yet.

I take full blame for this.

I took advantage of the cheap jerseys/cresting and picked up Backlund, Cammy, and Baertschi jerseys before the season. I seem to have put some sort of jynx on those players.

I also won a Lee Stempniak jersey at the home opener so he better watch out next game.

If we are calling someone up (which shouldn't be hard considering they are in Vancouver), I want to see how Ben Street does at the NHL level.

Good smart two way centreman.

Backlund has been showing what he's got his year. Biggest reason to cheer for the Flames so far. Shame he's made of glass.

I hate that Roger, Rob, and whoever else say that. Of course he has a hip flexor, he has several hip flexors. He has a hip flexor injury, dammit! It's not like a hip pointer!

Backlund was playing well with the Czechs tonight...then he left the game after an accidental knee on knee hit. I don't think it is serious though and I am sure him and Cammy will be back vs the Canucks next game.

What rotten luck.

He was playing scary good by the third period, I was banking money on him to get the winner. Him and the Czechs were meshing shockingly well. I thought for a moment that we may have found the right center piece for that line. (no credit taken away from Stajan)

*slams fist*

If Backlund and Cammo can't go on Saturday I'd like to see Max Reinhart recalled. I hear he's been playing some solid hockey as of late and could be a chance to reward him for his hard work.

Backlund is starting to seem like he's injury prone / made of glass. It might actually be the biggest down side to him, which is too bad cause he does seem to have the talent. It could just be bad luck, but some people simply aren't that durable and I'm starting to wonder about him.

It was a knee on knee hit tonight, and I know those things are delicate and all about how you catch it, but some players seem to get it way worse than that and get right up. Same thing with his shoulder last year, at first you think it's bad luck and he just caught it wrong, but as injuries start to build, you have to start to wonder how durable he is.

Anyway, hopefully the above is all for not and he's back in the line up on Saturday, but if he's not, I'm getting nervous about this kids ability to stay healthy.

I think you could say the same about Bart sadly, hes already had a few injuries as well.

I was suprised to see Backlund get hurt on that check. Seemed to be not much, the kind of hit that happens every game.
Too bad he was really clicking with the Czech line.
Is Backlund prone to injuries or is it badluck, The Flames are going to have to consider this in the offseason.
