Which is why I'd rather see a movie about new characters. Han Solo is already a bad ass. What could they possibly accomplish by making a prequel movie about him?

I like the idea (as previously stated in this thread) of them venturing into the KOTOR timeline for the next movie. However, that will probably never happen.

I would prefer no prequels at all. If you want to use the old characters go for it but make it set after Jedi. What... can't they think of interesting stories to tell set in the New Republic?

Just saying... Harrison Ford was 34 in 1977. Michael Fassbender is 35 right now.

Forgive me as I have not read the books. But why wouldn't Disney pick up after Return of the Jedi? Even later on when Han and Leia have their brats? Also, does Luke not turn Sith or something weird like that? Gives the O.G cast some sort of recaptured Glory at the same time ushering in a new cast with the brats and what not?

I believe they are going to pick up after RoTJ, these are just the off shoot movies that will release in the off years between VII VIII and VIX.

Ahh okay, would like a Sith history story off-shoot, along with something from Knights of the old republic. thats all I got. Starkiller would be cool too. seeing the game made more exiled Jedi available for him to kill.

I'd prefer that they didn't unless they moved it 20 or 30 years after the Endor. Some of those stories with the baby solo kids were garbage, I wasn't even a big fan of the Thrawn trilogy because he was basically Groucho Marx to the Solo Skywalker awesomeness collection.
The Dark Empire stuff with the cloned emperor really in my mind was bloody awful. Yes Luke turned to the dark side kinda sorta, and Artoo saved the universe and Palpatine was dumb.
At least 30 years after the fall of the Empire you have what amounts to the rebirth of the Sith in Jacen Solo.
Personally I would prefer that they give the Sith as the enemy a rest for a while, you can do Dark versus Light without the Sith who in my mind were and have been a pretty cool but over used enemy.
I would even maybe like to see the Force take a back seat for the next little while and focus on the more interesting aspects of a galaxy that seems to continuously be at war.

If anyone thinks Fassbender can't take on Han Solo they're wrong, guys handsome as eff but is one of the best actors going today.
Between the x-men franchise, the Assasians Creed thing he's trying to do and then other acting projects Star Wars is another bring franchise to fit in.

Another interesting story? I dunno, he wasn't always the bad-ass he is now. The Han Solo trilogy really helped show why he became the guy he is.

I want some movies in the time of the Empire. That is Star Wars. I don't care who it's about, I want to see Stormtroopers and references to Vader. Not before the Empire, and not after it! At least not entirely.

It's not about being "handsome" or a good actor. He's nothing like Han Solo or Harrison Ford and that isn't an insult. If I had to pick an actor that possessed the qualities to play a character like Han Solo, it would probably end up as someone like Chris Pine who has that sort of "cocky" attitude. Nathan Fillion is probably the closest but as someone pointed out, he's Mal from Firefly.
I think it's a fool's errand to try and recast one of the most memorable characters in the Star Wars universe.

Lol casting Chris Pine as Han Solo would be the most entertaining thing to happen in.. well ever probably.
Someone please put Chris Pine's head on Han Solo's body and make a meme with this text:

Ahhh, found out something pretty cool. R.A Salvatore wrote some Star Wars books. Salvatore is one of my favorite authors thanks to his Forgotten Realms series' Maybe I will delve into some of his Star Wars material and see if he was any good at those.
