Whatever happens, someone will have to be signed, or traded for. Irving and Ortio are the only goalies under NHL contracts.

I think Irving will be fine. Ride him for a hand full of games while he gets comfortable with his teammates and NHL shooters and I believe he rises to the occasion. No player ever will by playing 1 game every 3 weeks.
There really isn't anything to worry about. The Flames haven't been a playoff team in a while and they aren't right now, so it really can't get much worse. I'm not happy Kipper is injured, but I choose to see opportunity here instead of a problem.

Irving's playing well. He looks calm despite not knowing he was going to be in tonight.
I'm excited to see if he has what it takes to be a starter for this team.

Could be a blessing in disguise providing the injury isn't long term. Time to see how this team fares without Kipper propping them up and time to find out if Irving is worth keeping past this season.
