How to unlock cell phone?

I just received a new cell phone on eBay. Unfortunately, it is locked. I do not have the password, and was not provided one. Is there anyone who knows how to unlock cell phones? It's a Samsung Galaxy Rugby.

I got a quote from Cell Phone Repair (CPR). They charge $65.00. Is there any place that can do this for a cheaper rate?

Samsung Galaxy Rugby. My carrier is Rogers, but it is locked with Bell.

If you're more adventurous, you might be able to root your phone and do it yourself. I've never looked into doing it with your phone though, not sure if it would work.

You should be able to unlock your phone with online websites that charge like 20 bucks. They just need your imei number... Unless you are talking about a bricked phone

thanks for the help, but after I posted this, the battery went dead. I checked with Rogers today, and it turns out the individual who sold me the Galaxy Rugby, tampered with the litmus paper inside the phone, and on the battery, so the phone is pretty much useless. God, I feel like a schmuck.

I filed a dispute early this morning. Hopefully Paypal will resolve the issue. Funny, I have dealt with people on kijiji numerous times, and have had only positive experiences..

I'm assuming when you're using kijiji it's in person? Makes things a lot easier than eBay.
