Hopefully they don't get discouraged.
If they keep playing like that, they will win more often than not.
Hell of a hole to climb out of though

We have some good pieces for the future, hopefully in a couple of years we can beat gassed teams coming off of back to backs playing their retread back ups...hopefully.

They should've put Hudler out all PP in OT. He's one of the few clutch guys on the team. Glencross couldn't hit an open net for his life.

I just can't be as optimistic are everyone else. This team has one win in six games. Kipper has a abysmal stats. Cammy and Iginla combine for 14 million of the cap and they have produced ZERO GOALS.
This team is done, they are finishing bottom 5 in the league, the only question is how long is it going to take before people stop making excuses for them and start to see the reality of the situation?

Feaster did a fantastic job picking up Cervenka, Hudler, and Wideman.
The heat he took from the media was unwarranted.

Is it though? The other 4 NW teams have played 2 more games than us at this point.
If (and obviously its a big if) we win those 2 games in hand, we'd be 2 points back of Vancouver (and we play them next weekend), 1 point back of Minnesota and Edmonton, and tied with Colorado.
Given all the 4-point games within our division, its not as bad as it looks IMO.

Really fun game to watch. About as entertaining of a loss as you're going to get.
Completely unacceptable for an organization that has constantly stated that its primary goal is to make it into the playoffs, but entertaining.

I agree. I just don't know who they could trade to get it? Comeau is not going to get it done. Butler and a pick or prospect? The players that should be traded ( Cammi )would never be traded. Stajan is needed right now, can't believe i wrote that. He has played well. Stempniak has playing well also.

I don't hear excuses, just differences of opinion. Cammi is a mistake, but not Iginla. You could not have watched the game tonight and thought that Iginla didn't contribute to goals tonight. Plus you know he's gonna rack some up.

Jiri Hudler is the first Calgary Flame since Jarome Iginla that flat out makes players around him better. That's pretty cool. Definitely a good signing.

Well, the Hawks did play last night and arrived to Calgary late. The Flames should've had the fresher legs and add to that they lost Bolland aswell.

Interesting to read the varied takes. The positives i saw tonight, regardless of whether the Hawks were tired in the later stages, is that we are becoming a team that increasingly plays a complete game with skill and speed. Can they keep this up despite some disheartening results? This upcoming road trip will tell the tale friends. There is something different though this year. I hope that some of you can feel it too. I'll feel it a lot more after a three game win streak.

So true. He looked stunned after scoring that goal. I also really liked Hudler's excitement when the puck went in.

Was at the game, don't think I've ever seen a team as tired as Chicago was for that third period, and somehow the Flames blew it. Moral victories are silly considering the soft start they have been handed. Kipper, Iginla & Cammalleri can feel free to start their seasons.

Now there are some fine examples of excuses. I watched the Hawks broadcast and heard that a few times during the game. Don't half that team stay up partying til 3am anyway? Plus there was construction at the hotel, etc, etc. wah. Every team suffers this at some point. Calgary did dominate, bad luck on the loss.
