I think the roads would be safer if most people just drove a little faster, and ignorred stop signs at empty intersections a little more often.

Lower drinking and driving limits have completely missed the point. The people who had one glass of one with dinner will stop drinking when out, the people who had 20 shots will still drive if they would have before. Bad for people enjoying a dinner out, bad for the services industry, good for stay at home mothers with nothing to do, that don't even go out after 9:00pm.

The NAACP is one of the largest reasons there is still strife between races in the southern US. If you don't want to be treated different stop darwing attention to it, we could give an award to someone for being a great White person.

Jarome Iginla should never leave the Flames organization.

And the Flames would not have done that much worse without Kipper the Last few years, maybe more goals against over the whole season, but about the same points in the standings. (3-2 losses would have become 5-2 losses, and 3-1 wins would have become 4-2 wins).

I completley agree with this and thinks it stems to other forms of discrimination as well. My GF and I were talking the other day about womens rights in business and she said how in some Euro country (Sweden I think) by law company boards have to have at least 4/10 women for equality reasons. Is that really equality?

If we were striving for actual equality across all races and genders and law that seperates them, whether its a benefit or not, should be removed. What if a man is more qualified/suited for a job than a woman but they HAD to give it to the woman by law? Thats not equality. Same goes for race.

I like to use the example of the movie "White Chicks". If two funny white guys made a movie called "Black Chicks" where they portayed big sassy black women there would be an uproar. This is a major problem IMO.

Speaking of which...I don't believe the different races are equal. I believe that they are stronger or weaker in different facets than other races. However, I don't believe that makes one race better or worse than another in general but it does make them better at certain things, eg. Absorbing sunlight.

I don't understand many of the comments about the southern US, probably because I live in South New York.
In New York (meaning NYC), New Yorkers are cool! Friendly, funny,helpful.

Without special interest groups supporting women, minorities, the gay community, the good old boys club of rich white dudes just continues to ensure that other rich white dudes get everything.

There is still massive inequality between men and women and white people and people of color, even with these groups to help them. The groups are misguided sometimes, of course, but without them it would be a whole lot worse.

There's a whole huge difference between blackface and whiteface.

But then white people arguing how to fix racism is generally a really incredibly futile idea.

Agree that there's still inequality that needs to be supplemented but at some point I think (hope) this is going to disappear and I wonder about the type of backlash someone will face who tries to abolish these policies for that specific reason purely because "minorities" (I'm pretty sure a white person is the current minority just from walking down the street) want to keep what would now be policies that give them an advantage over others.

"Minority" may not be in actual populace, but if you look at positions of power--in politics, in business, in the entertainment industry--a really inordinate percentage of those positions are filled by white dudes. And in general, those white dudes are going to make decisions that benefit them and their peers rather than decisions that benefit other races/genders.
