Hear the player Aston Villa are looking to loan could be Simon Dawkins, who was at Tottenham and San Jose Earthquakes. #avfc

On Talksport shortly discussing transfers. Diame release clause been triggered - but pretty sure it's not Arsenal. QPR v Spurs?

The full story on Odemwingie is that to try and force a transfer he showed up at QPR today, they wouldn't let him in the door

Best line on this goes to Everton midfielder Darron Gibson - leave it to an Irishman!

Everton midfielder Darron Gibson on Twitter: "New song by Odemwingie 'Sign Me Maybe'...'Hey, I just drove here. And this is crazy. I'm in your car park. So sign me maybe' hahaha class!

... this is simply the most legendary story of this transfer window. Awesome.

Probably the cleaning woman told him to get lost ... "no no no, mister Redknapp no here. No."

why Carrick and Gerrard (aimed more so at Roy not you)

they are going to be 33 and 34 at the next world cup

I would much rather

/looks up and down team list, see's only other midfielder under 30 is Cleverly

Have Cleverly beside Wilshere and play Rooney in the Gerrard role with someone else (Welbeck) up top

also you are missing the worlds best fullback from your starting XI

I'd also start playing Baines over Cole

I think he's flat out better at this point and gives us a slim chance of possibly scoring a goal from a set piece

Nacho Man to Arsenal is Offical.

This must be the first time in years that Arsenal has come out of the transfer window in better shape than they entered.

Yeah totally right on Baines. Brain fart, my bad

Carrick, no. There isn't a better option at all. Even close. I like Cleverly, but he's more offensive - which we have other better options, and he doesn't hold a candle to Carrick in the passing department (ball to de Gea, was a mulligan!)

I have no problem with our DM being over 30. He's still fit.

I like the Rooney for Gerrard option, but for Welbeck? Gah? Maybe there's a Lennon resurgence .. and we have riches on wing, and can bump Walcott or Young up front.

We invite John Terry then eh? Cool.
Screw Gerrard & Cleverly then, let's bring in Joey Barton.

You think I'm joking? I know you're trolling me, but for those that say bring in JT, then why not Barton?

The way Carrick has been playing this season, there simply isn't a better option in defensive midfield.

Baines should be a no-brainer as well, he has been lights out.

Brendon Rodgers

“If there is a team of the season so far in the Prem, then Glen would be in it. He’s one of the best right-backs in the world playing on the left.
Lennon has been great this year (surprised he wasn't invited), and I think Walcott could work in the middle

maybe a front 5 of

Lennon/Walcott/Ox
Rooney

don't think many back 4s could handle that pace

I still like Welbeck, I know he's relegated to the sidelines with Rooney/RVP in front of him, but I thought he was one of the best players at the Euros and has size/strength/speed, no other England forward has all 3, needs more game time though

I wouldn't play a DM, especially in qualifying, unless said DM was young and talented enough to actually make the squad

I also wouldn't think about 2014, there's a 0% chance England are winning a WC in Brazil, I to me it's one of the south american squads. I will be ecstatic with a QF

I would start focusing on 2016 right now, meaning no one under 28/29, and build towards something like

Hart
Walker/Smalling/Caulker/Baines
Jones/Wilshere
Ox/Rooney/Walcott
Welbeck

other possibilities

Gibbs, Shaw, Sterling, Zaha, Cleverely, Sturridge, Rodwell, Henderson

Right. Glen Johnson. How did I miss him. I still think it'd be awesome to see Barton get a run out.

In this qualifying, Roy has to offer an olive branch to Carrick. He's been stiffed ridiculously. He initiates that with offering Carrick a starting 11 spot at Wembley against a world super power.

Two things. I rate Young ahead of Ox & Jones in place of Smalling. . Young can slot in forward if needed. The World Cup isn't a development camp.
Carrick goes. Heres' my compomise:

-------------- Hart
- Walker - Jones - Caulker - Baines
------- Carrick Wilshere
---Walcott - Rooney - Young
------------ Welbeck

I thought highly of Ashley Young as well. That is until Euro 2012 where he was absolutely dreadful. He was consistently England's worst player. It surprised me immensely to see that.

He was bad yes, but hard to say worse than John Terry & Glen Johnson..
JT had the hamstring issue, and Johnson carragher'd a goal.

He's been great on both wings for United this season.
I'd sooner like to see Sterling given a run too.
