I really, really don't like this thread.

First, a lot of posts on here arent unpopular opinions. Think before you write "will I get a lot of 'thanks' when I type this?"

If answer is yes, it isn't an unpopular opinion, and you're an asspirate for messing up the thread.

Secondly, there is a perfectly good gear grinding thread that is now marginalized.

This is probably an unpopular opinion.

I believe he's talking about the creation of the US Federal Reserve (Dec. 1913) and the mostly apocryphal story of Nathan Rothschild using advance knowledge of the result of the Battle of Waterloo to manipulate the English Stock Exchange for his own gain (June 1815).

I like that word, apocryphal, it's so perfectly ambiguous. Either side can take from it what their bias is.

This thread reminds of the Random Thoughts Thread .
There should've been a law or whatever, starting with the building of the first single family home subdivisiion, stating that all home sites must be a minimum of half an acre or something. Yeah, I know, it would cut down on profits and affordability but it would reduce also a lot of problems and suburban angst. Saying your home is your castle hen your neighbor is 6 feet away is just a bunch of crap.
Also, we should have 5 day mail delivery like you guys do. And sometimes I think there should be a mandatory retirement age at the PO so people plan better, instead of thinking they can work till 70 so why save any money. We have letter carriers who can barely walk. And yes we have some guys nearing 70 who are faster and have a better work ethic than other younger carriers, so whatever I think is probably wrong anyway!

This thread needs to be renamed the "Random opinion thread", because most of the "unpopular" opinions are subjectively unpopular rather than actually unpopular. Like the first one in this thread, about the Wire not being top 5 all-time. Well, to those who've seen it, that's an unpopular opinion. When you realize probably 25 times as many people have seen The Big Bang Theory or Two and a Half Men than they have the Wire, and a lot of people would tell you those are top all time shows (not my opinion, theirs), well then saying the Wire isn't top 5 isn't really all that unpopular. Within the context of those who've seen it, it is. Overall though, as I suggested there are probably more people that think TBBT or TAAHM are top 5 shows ever than the total number of people who've seen the Wire.

If he's the pastor, isn't he the one getting everyone else's 10%?

The best part about that story is the pastor doing a big humble mea culpa after calling and demanding that everyone involved be fired immediately.

Jesus would hate almost all modern religious people (American Christians in particular) if he lived today (though of course he's Jesus, he'd hate no one). The biggest hypocrites of them all, without a doubt.

I'm the exact opposite. I have had beautiful white girlfriends, but Latinas and ebony chicks get me going far beyond what a honky can do.
