Listening to the Flames talk about the game. Sloppy. Not nearly good enough. Not good defensively. Turning the puck over way to many times.
Unlike some posters at least they aren't making excuses. They are not winning hockey games. But at least they are not making excuses.

Just saw Iginla's comments after the loss and I reviewed them against my other 200 tapes of Iginla comments after Flames losses over the past 5 years and it seems like he is using the same comments tonight as he used during the previous 200 games.

I get the need for some to vent on the team. Really.
But you entered this thread complaining about those with holier than thou tone, and proceed to adopt that tone. You have spent more time lashing out at fans, instead of those that deserve it. The team.
I loved the play of Hudler/Stajan/Cervenka. Was impressed with Bou. Back kind looking dangerous at times but has to finish. Butler needs to sit.
Still a fan. This is looking like a season of change, so may as well enjoy the ride.

If we had the first overall pick, and we, this franchise who hasn't had a number 1 center in 17 years picked a D man with a potentially elite center sitting there I think I'd be done. I couldn't handle it.
That being said, again, we're not good, but we're not first overall bad.

That's the same story they give every game for the past 4 years. The post-game show on the Fan 960 isn't worth listening to until the call-ins start. I could almost write-down verbatim what the players and coaches are going to say after the game.

please don't be so naive to believe that if the Flames were 6-0, those optimistic souls would be ripping those who were pessimistic.
you know they would have.

I am absolutely ok with the Flames finishing last in the league this year. Keep losing, boys!

Only difference was that they folded in the regular season as opposed to the first round. Hell even the Canucks could win a round or two.....

Saying the flames missed the playoffs because of the pressure of the end of the season ignores their terrible starts and middles. Mostly, near the end of the season they played their best, it just wasn't good enough. Revisionist history. Sutter did not "get the most out of the players". If so, why did nearly every player that came to Calgary post some of their worst stats?

You're forgetting about the lottery, fortunately all we have to be is 14th from the bottom to get a chance at the pick!

You're confusing excuses with reasons. Not one player is going to come out and say "we lost because of Kipper." or something to that effect. We as fans, can say stuff like that. Not a riddle.

Did Cammy seem like he was falling over all over the offensive zone tonight?

Come on, do you think that all the Sutter haters have disappeared because they are all on vacation? Of course they have, otherwise they would still be here explaining how great this team is and how bad the old coach is. You cannot possibly think that if the Flames were 5-0 that all those people would be on here talking about how great the Flames were and how they only needed a real NHL coach (not a WHL coach) to turn this elite group of talent around. Clearly they are all out of town right now.

I'm not on vacation Beers, it's been a total of 5 games since the prior 246 of Sutter's boring hockey. At least this is more exciting hockey and the team didn't lose 1-0.
5 games man. Give Hartley 246 and then it's a fair comparison. For arguments sake, Sutter's roster at the worlds was miles better than the Flames is anyway.

Sutter and his system consistently had this team as a 90+ point team. I look forward to seeing Hartley get this group to such a level this year. I could absolutely careless about individual stats, even though Giordano, Glencross, Bourque all achieved career highs under Sutter, all I care about is whether a team wins.
Hartley is getting the most out of Stempniak this year, thank god for that.
