Butler sure isn't keeping this defensive competition very competitive. Kipper hasn't looked like Kipper. Hudler is in beast mode tonight.

He kept the player in a low quality area for offense, which is part of his job. The complaint/suggestion is the benefit of hindsight.

Sarich left his man to attack another who was in poor position.

Kipper is no good in an offensive game plan.

Kipper has been garbage for 3 of the past 4 years with last year being the exception.

I kinda think Kipper was just finding his game before the break threw him off. He needs to play to be good.

Especially given the fact that his "top line" has no center on it. Glencross going at half speed and Tanguay making all kinds of low percentage plays. Iginla has been fine. Those three need to play a simple game, not whatever the hell they have been doing.

The Avs are terrible. It's concerning we are not dominating this game.

Still flashes of good in spots but the lapses are brutal.

If Smith is healthy he needs to be in there instead of Butler. Not hating on the guy, he's just the odd man out on the depth chart.

Iggy and Kipper are off to a slow start. Both will come along eventually but I hope it's sooner rather than later.

Good catch.

Sarich-Butler clearly with the least icetime, unsurprisingly. Right now those two guys make me think "how long exactly until Babchuk is ready to play?" They look brutal individually and even worse when together.

butler should have been harder on the initial play behind the net, and then shold have bought popcorn if he wanted to watch the rest of the play like that.

Part of me feels vindicated for calling Butler out last season, notwithstanding the heat i took for it.
