The current home and road jerseys are a mess: ugly vertical and horizontal stripes, useless armpit piping, and out-of-place flag patches. I was messing around in Photoshop and came up with with my ideal Flames set; based on the classic flames sweaters but with a few minor tweaks:
Home: The main difference is that the red is one shade darker. I loved watching the Flames school the Oil last night in their vintage threads, but they are a little bit bright on TV. The red should be slightly darker - the same shade the Habs use. Also the hem and pants stripes now match the arm stripes, and the alternate captain letter is no longer a generic 'A.'
Road: This one has a few more changes from the '80's white sweater. I added gold trim to the red shoulders, the hem and arm stripes are now the same pattern as on the red jersey, and I included a lace-up collar because I felt like it.
Alternate: I've never been a fan of black being included in the Flames' colour scheme, but I could live with it on a third jersey. I also have a soft spot for the 1990s 'pedestal' uniforms. Most fans associate that look with the futility of the Young Guns era, but those were the jerseys they wore when I first became a Flames fan and I think they would've been great sweaters if only they didn't include that stupid pedestal detail. I realize that many fans still love the black C jerseys from 2003-04 so my design for the third is a bit of a mashup between those two styles.
Also, no shoulder patches because it's damn near impossible to come up with an alternate logo anywhere near as awesome as the Flaming C, and that space is reserved for Stanley Cup Finals patches only.

These are phenomenal. Without a doubt the best Flames mock up I've ever seen. Good work! I love them!

That being said, I'd buy both the home and away without delay (and I'm not a big jersey buyer). These just look like proper hockey jerseys.

The Home and Away are deadly. I mentioned earlier in this thread that the Flames needed to make the red slightly darker and the retros would be perfect. The 3rd I am not the biggest fan of, but with perfection in the home and away, they could have a pink 3rd jersey for all I care.
Great work, forward this to Ken King asap.

I really like the single colour, sans serif name on the back. Our current jerseys have so much happening -- I would prefer a much cleaner look with a simple letters for the name rather than the clunky two-color letters we currently use.

Home looks good; like the subtle tweaks on the away (shoulder yoke reminds me of the Rangers). Alternate is nice as a concept design but I'm personally not a fan (unless it's for a one-game AHL promotion by the Heat ).

I was reminded of the Bruins & Blues whites to be honest, maybe because of the yellow

Those are probably the best Flames jersey concept I've seen, awesome job.

I agree with the above posters that these are nice designs, maybe except the "Young Guns Era" tribute for the 3rd jersey

The alternate jersey Zarley posted is beautiful, but my god it brings back bad memories of the Young Guns era.

Those last designs were great. I would buy that away right now, love the added gold trim on the shoulders, very classy.

Love the Alternate. Then again I liked the pedestals, too.

The pedistal jersey looks great, except the arm numbers look more like half-shoulder patches. They are too high up, or not high up enough.

Agree with everyone, love the Home and Away, don't love the alternate but could absolutely live with it. Best mockups I've seen, those need to be our jerseys.

I'd take the home and away jerseys for sure, and use our current homes (sans shoulder patches) as the 3rd.

Thanks for the positive feedback.
To be quite honest, I'm happy with my design for the home and road, but still not sure about the third jersey. If anyone has some good ideas for a third, let me know and maybe I'll take another stab at it.

Zarley my favorite thing about the old red pedestal jersey was really the white trim. The black doesn't seem to work as well for me, but I may be in the minority.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think black is one of the best things to happen to our jerseys. Especially the black flaming C. I love the vintage jerseys, but we were closer to where we should be with the 2004 style. What we have now is one of my least favorite sets in the league. Vertical striping, horizontal striping, weird piping. And then there's the shoulder patches...
Hopefully we can look forward to an update in the near future.

Well done Zarley. Now we just need Ken King and the flames to realize we are as good a focus group as they can get.
