There has never been a sign that Jamison actually had the money, and with 4 days left I don't see how that changes.

Yep you may well be correct, I just wonder what carrot he could be dangling to the NHL owners to try to entice them to agree. I would think the potential for cashing in on some relocation fees might be a carrot to some the owners in the other direction.

Will be interesting to see how this sorts out.

Yeah Gary and the NHL have invested a lot into that market (money, court battles, negotiating with buyers and CoG, and maybe it has some bearing on their NBC contract) but it's time to stop sending good money after bad. In fact it was time a few years ago.

Frankly, people want to know EXACTLY what all of these 'moving parts' are - this is the first I've heard about people being tired of TOO MUCH info coming from the the Jamison camp.

And the "appropriate time" should have been the moment that the funds were gathered and the team bought and that should have been MONTHS ago.

This guy is just like all of the slimy US politicians that use the 'get up there and lie your ass off and hope no one notices' brand of public speech.

and yes, I realize that I'm from the US and he was once part of the ownership group for my team - sure am glad he's gone now...

But what he's put yote fans through is unforgivable. He suckered Doan into thinking that there would be a future in the desert (and signs a long deal) and keeps stringing poor Glendale along...

Well it wasn't really there money until this season.

It was Glendales and the previous owners. So Gary basically made his comitment he says he would to all markets. As long as their is a willing owner the team doesn't move. Since after this agreement expires there won't be a willing owner or city to cover the losses I bet Gary moves the team quite easily.

It's been the NHL putting up the money for operating and managing the franchise for the last 3 seasons.

IIRC, even with Glendale's money, the NHL was still losing money in Phoenix.

And it was theirs to lose. I still don't understand why people care how the NHL decides to spend it's money. Do you concern yourself with the financial decisions of the guy who lives across the street from you?

If part of that TV deal is going to cover Coyote losses instead of to the Flames, then yeah, I care.

I don't see that as a good analogy. The NHL offers public entertainment, enjoyed and followed by millions. There is plenty of interest in that.

Well when the NHL is asking for handouts from taxpayers to build new arenas, I'm interested in what they do with their money.

In the entertainment aspect sure, but what do you care about their financial choices? If they want to lose money in Phoenix then so be it.
