Excited to see what happens in season 3 and how many of the same actors return in different roles.

IMO the whole asylum angle brought with it constant dread while season one was less dark but more edgy. Even though it's mostly the same cast I actually thought the acting in season two was superior to season one as they all raised their game to the point IMO it's one of the best casts of any Cable series. Overall I probably liked season one a little better but props to the writers for trying something completely different and still putting out a good show with the 2nd season. Can't wait to see what they come up with for season three.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked season 2, but it was almost like they knew they could make something absolutely terrifying and kind of pulled back.
I felt that they got rid of the possessed nun way too easily, and the doctor way too easily, there was so much more that they could have done with them instead of the alien story line that really went nowhere.
Even Bloody face's boy was really neutered in the end.
It wasn't as wtf jumpy as year one.
I'm looking forward to the cast returning in new roles next year. I do have to say that Jessica Lange is amazing.

I never really watched S1 but enjoyed S2 - I was glad to see that the "good" characters like Lana & Kit were shown to have weaknesses and not be perfect. The wrap up of her story was very well done I thought.
As for S3, they've already gone on the record as saying it will be alien-focused which is why they peppered the alien storyline in thru this season - it's the buildup for S3 apparently.
I was completely shocked by what happened to Grace tho....

I prefered the ghost theme of season 1 to aliens but I will see how it goes.

And I read the exact opposite. They said they were done with aliens completely. Looking for link right now.

Well we've had the house with the ghosts, we've had an insane asylum with corruption, medical experiments, satanic possession and serial killers.
Maybe next year will be a prison with monsters in the basement
Or circus freaks under the stairs
Or a circus staffed by evil soul sucking clowns, that would be the worst.

I would totally tune into that.
They'd literally have to coat the camera lens with Vaseline for Jessica Lange though

I'd be intrigued if they did something very cult-based...there's a whole psychology thing there they could explore, esp if they followed a storyline along what happened in Waco.

Yeah the aliens subplot was my biggest gripe with Season 2. I was hoping all along that there were no aliens, and it was some sort of dellusion....but no just totally random and unexplained aliens.
As far as Jessica Lange, not what she used to be but I'd still hit it.

How about a Satanic cult, a baby killing satanic cult hidden in the middle of New York City, with special guest star Donald Trump.
In the end they actually succeed in bringing about the end of the world by raising satan himself as portrayed by Pauly Shore
You're all going to hell . . . . buuuuudddddy

I still enjoyed this season, and the acting was great. However, I was significantly more creeped out by the first season. Angel of Death was pretty eerie, though.

So anyone watch the Season 3 preview last night?
I thought it was a very strong start. Kathy Bates can play evil like no other.
Was amazed that
Overall I thought it was a good episode with some really great acting in it.
Jamie Brewer has a expanded role in this.
Gabourney Sidibe did a great job as well.

[spoiler]I don't know if she was a witch as much as she was a sadist who believed in witch rituals. I'm making the assumption that the potion that she drank was like a zombie poison that somehow extended her life. The fact that she was chained and bound and gagged tells me that the intent was eternal punishment.

Awesome first episode. I hope it continues with this intensity but keeps the storyline tighter than season 2.

Loved the first episode, seems like a story that I will enjoy more than the one in Season 2.

You certainly don't come out of 150 years of coffin solitary more sane.
Precious and Kathy Bates's Characters will get along great.

I don't think she was sane in the first place. But now she's going to be filled with anger and benevolence, Jessica Lange wants the secret to eternal youth and eternal life. I'm willing to be that Angela Bassetts character is still alive.

Hence "more sane" or improved. However, what is sane?
