Really hope he has one hit on Saturday, "where he didn't even fully hit" like he did on poor little Taylor Hall and his victim is Nail Yakupov this time.
Keep your heads up kids.
BOOM goes the dynamite.

Unfortunately due to my job taking me out of town a lot I watched a lot of Dubnyk play last season and he was not average and definitely not above average.
|
I don't understand, Dubnyk's defense leaves him out to dry so many times. Any goalie with a save percentage that's average with the Oilers abysmal defense is pretty good. I don't think he's a long term answer though, but he's still a NHL tendy the same way Roloson was.

FYI, the mods found out he was a previously banned user and now is banned again. Mmm...are you that banned user from HF Oil? I mean who else would have privy to that info unless you were banned and now you are pissed. If it was you (which I have a strong feeling it is), you are a BIG loser...
This may seemed difficult for you to comprehend, but next time get your facts straight before calling someone out...

No I didn't impersonate you, however I did have an account for a few months but was banned recently for "trolling". All the homers over there were absolutely convinced that the Oilers were going to kill the Flames this year, and verbatim I said "maybe you should actually accomplish something more than improving from 30th to 29th before talking smack" and boom I was banned. Pretty sad that you can come on here, talk smack and we laugh it off as the dribble of an immature child, however anybody who doesn't drink the blue koolaid at HF is banned because their feelings get hurt. Little touchy after years in the basement I guess.
Anyways, no way in hell I would want to impersonate you, you seem like a sad individual who gets to feel better about his crappy team by coming here and trying to incite us. However, for whoever did try to impersonate you, hats off.

Burrows game 7 quarterfinal winner: jumped and immediately slid into the boards while teammates pile on.
Patrick Kane: game 6 Stanley Cup winning OT goal: very similar to Yakupovs, however just a slightly more important goal.
Gaborik: 3OT winner last years playoff (his 1st career OT playoff winner): jumps up and down, hugs teammates.
See, it is possible to celebrate a big goal without the d-bag antics.

All those goals are in the playoffs (or winning a gold medal).
I think its all about time and place. He pulls that celebration off after winning a series or something...ok. Hard for any flames fan to argue considering Fleury did the same thing how many years ago. But in game 3 of a season?? A tad excessive.

Yes I agree, that is what the examples were about. All of those celebrations were much more meaningful goals, yet the player celebrated with teammates without the childish antics.

I won't be shocked when Yakupov takes out a sharpie and signs the plexiglass after jumping into it.

I don't think he meant to act like a dbag, it was pure raw emotion of course. I just thought it was way over the top given the circumstance. The fact it wasn't even the GAME WINNER, they still could have lost, screamed stupid to me.
I also find it hilarious that friends of mine who rip Fleury for his celebration in 91 are the same ones who are now applauding Yakupov. The two situations are not even remotely similar either.

That would be awesome if he signed the plexiglass. That would ... god damn, I'm just imagining how awesome that would be.
I want an NHL'er to do that. Any NHL'er. I kinda hope it's someone like Derek Dorsett. How friggin' rad. How long would he have to lug around a sharpie so that he could sign the glass? Right now, I promise to purchase and wear the jersey of any NHL player who whips out a sharpie and signs the glass they jump into before or after they score.
Actually, that would be the best: signing the glass during the pre-game skate, and then scoring and jumping right into the spot where you signed. That would be the best NHL goal celebration ever. I would buy home and away if anyone did that.

So why do you find it hilarious that your friends have different opinions on 2 situations that are "not even remotely similar"
I find your post really odd. Either they are similar and your friends are hypocrites or they are totally different and you find hilarity in weird stuff..

I'm sure Yakupov will be pulled aside today and told why you don't celebrate a goal like that, but come in, he's a 19 year old kid who just scored a clutch goal in his third NHL game ever. Not sure why anyone would bag on that.
It was perhaps immature... but once again. He's 19.

It's a no-win. Folks suggest the NHL needs players/personalities it can market around, similar to other big leagues.
Then, a kid shows some personality and suddenly it's the worst thing in the league.

I can't wait till Sven scores his next goal, whips out an oiler jersey and starts dry humping it at centre ice.
