Well I've mulled this over for a couple of weeks and have decided to retire. Its been a glorious few years and while my CPSW career wasn't as storied as some, it had a few highlights (for better or worse!). TSN often does a top ten for these things and I thought that I would throw out three memories from my time playing:
3. A few years ago we had a last minute spare who was 4x4's buddy. Not only did Levon "impress" with his removing clothes as he chased the ball back to the fence but he was the inspiration for an ill-thought-out camping trip theme that would end that season. A crowning moment of hilarity was when he was playing in the outfield and commenting about the other teams batters not swinging at pitches. Then this little firecracker gets up and smokes one over his head. He genuinely remarked "nice hit", which she apparently took as a snide remark yelling back "fata you tinkerbell".
2. Not one moment really, but just all the good times and camaraderie. I remember a couple years ago Aeneas putting a penny on FKA's forehead (after more than one schooner) and them seeing how many smacks it would take to knock it off. I was laughing so hard I had tears for sure! Just so many good times and some of them even had to do with playing ball!
1. The camping trip a few years ago. Really let's be honest; calling this a memory is disingenuous! Apparently a good time was had by all.
I just wanted to post to say thanks to you all, but particularly to FKA who does a great job organizing this and making the wheels turn. I realise that I'm far from the best player, but I always had a great time playing and of course met some great people. If you guys ever need a spare, hit me up and I'll probably come out. I'll be following along and hopefully you have a great season and there are better stories and more fun for you all!

Miss you Slava. Good times for sure. I think there must be a dam ned fine story on everyone of us from camping.
Don't ever let FKA know the secret of the penny on the forehead game. I am looking forward to many more seasons of slapping him in the back of the head.
I agree with your second point. I don't think I ever laugh as hard or as much as Sunday nights at ball, and not just at Locke.
"Far from the best player"??? Wtf? You could catch a ball. Puts you in the top 3 or 4 right there.
I think troutman is looking for a CF for his CPSWA team.

We need to have some sort of Retirement 'process/party/hazing.'
Its seems unfair that they should just be allowed to leave unscathed....
they don't it just means the 'limitation' period is officially cancelled. It's just as fun to make fun of people for things they did 3 years ago when they aren't there!!!!
