I'm really trying to figure out how the listeners of Fan960 ranked it as the best burger in town. Hell, I'd take a Big Mac over Southstreet.

The Big Mac is definitely the king of fast food burgers. I've never tried Soutstreet, but I do love me some New York Fries.
(I didn't count Five Guys as fast food, because frankly they are slow as ####)

It has been a long time, but I remember going here when I was a student at UBC - http://www.burgerheaven.ca/ -and the Burgers were fantastic.

No disrespect but that comment is insane! No way i would order and eat "poop meat" over a South St. burger. The same for disgusting Smashburger, crap ingredients for fast food chains at their worst.
I really enjoy Southstreet's condiment selection, blue cheese is a nice change of pace, same goes for their cajun onions and i really enjoy their wasabi mayo. Clive for me was just ok as i wrote in my BurgerQuest review ( link below) but for the price i was expecting much more. I would definitely rather visit Naina’s Kitchen for a fantastic fresh tasting burger cooked to perfection with bacon, cheese and spinach tucked inside the middle of the burger meat. Two establishments equally tied for me is Five Guys or Fatburger, need a burger on the go, call ahead and either of these places will satisfy if you cant make it down to Naina's.

To be honest, I'm with Resolute on this one. Based upon the last South St. burger I had, I'd prefer a Big Mac any day of the week by my taste buds. The Mac may be formed out of fecal meat, but it's somehow managed to charm millions over the decades with the shameful lure of its two decks and tangy sauce. Plus, you can get one anywhere and most importantly, via the drive-thru (not factors in flavour, I know), whereas South St. seems to be posturing as some sort of quasi "sit-down restaurant" burger...a slightly more up-scale Harvey's, if I may...and just fails to cut it. I do honestly contend that something's changed there over the last while, though, because I don't recall it being nearly as crappy as when I had it a month or so ago.

Yeah, Cibatta is pretty much the worst choice for a burger. However, they seem to address this factor in the review and this overcomes it ... so who knows.
If they had done a Cibatta based burger review and not mentioned how horrible this type of bun is for them, I'd suspect that they were on the take!

I go to the Beacon Hill Southstreet Burger and I've never had a bad meal. It's not as good as Five Guys but still miles better than any fast food joint. Howard Stern show bought a McDonalds cheesburger and let it sit on a desk for an entire year. A year later it still looked identical to the day they bought it. The bun didn't mold, the meat and cheese did not discolour. The only way you would know it was a year old was that it was as hard as a rock. Basically enough preservatives to surivive a nuclear war. There is absolutely no way anyone is going to convince me that a Big Mac is better than a freshly made and grilled burger from Soutstreet Burger.

Give the burgers at Shark Club a try they are pretty damn good..... The scenery is worth it as well, tons of tvs and attractive "surroundings".

Healthier, not likely. Better? At least in relation to the 130th Street location, definitely. As it is, they are sitting on two strikes. I'm going to give them a couple months to get past the new-store-new-staff problem and try again. But one more fail and I won't return, ever.
Also, as much as the sub sandwich shop style of laying all the ingredients out in front of the customer seems nice, I find it causes people to become indecisive about what they want on their food. Having to wait 20+ minutes for people to make up their GD minds about what type of cheese they want before I could complete my burger certainly added to the underwhelming nature of the product.
It's mostly moot regardless. With Five Guys now open, I don't expect I'll be going to Southstreet much anyway.

I agree about the waiting part as it is annoying and there's nothing worse than being stuck behind a woman slowly and indecisively go over toppings for multiple burgers.
Unfortunately for us NW folks there isn't a Five Guys in the area so it's Southstreet, Smashburger, or generic fast food.

What happened with the planned Royal Oak location? Perhaps something fell through with the franchisee.

The McDonalds burgers not molding has been debunked multiple times by multiple people.
I'll just leave this here to read.

Had my first burger bus burger today. The patty was big and juicy. The bun was meh and the toppings were lackluster. The fries were great. Would not go for a double unless your fat albert sized.
