Google Drive or Microsoft Sky Drive would be my suggestions.

Generally I'll put stuff in Dropbox and then send a shared link.

YouTube has the option to make videos require that people have the URL to view.

I went through the same thing, eventually found software that would convert my camera's videos into something that I could edit, but then quality would be crap. I wasted a lot of time trying to do that and eventually gave up and just uploaded the whole raw video to YouTube and put "Fast Forward to XXX" on the video title. It helped that I paused between plays, so my clips were all reasonably short. They still did take a while to upload as they were HD.

Damn. What kind of internet are you on?

Not sure what kind of computer you're using, but Dropbox might be the way to go if you can't upload something to YouTube or Vimeo. The desktop version of Dropbox is pretty good, it works in the background and if you've lost your connection it'll pick up where it left off. It's slightly slower than the video sharing sites, but might work for your situation.

If the video isn't legal, you never knew me.

Not sure if the kids are still playing hockey, but can you just take some video with your phone? It's grandparents, they generally don't care about quality. Phone --> Youtube shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.
